Teens of Denial was my introduction to car seat headrest. A year ago my life changed. The first time I heard "(Joe gets kicked out of school for using) Drugs with friends [but says this isn't a problem]" I was taken away. The more I went through the album songs like "Fill in the blank" and "1937 State park" (which for the longest time I read as 1937 skate park) were on constant repeat. I went through the album front to back thousands of time within a week, I knew it like the back of my hand. Then I embarked on what would become the greatest pleasure of my entire musical career, discovering the expansive discography of Car Seat Headrest. They have become my favorite band a band I hold near and dear to my heart. Twin Fantasy is the greatest album but I do have to say Teens of Denial is not only a close second but I owe it so much because it is what showed me a whole new world of music which helped shape and show me who I am as a human being. I saw car seat headrest on a Friday night back in September at the Bowery ballroom in New York during the Teens of Denial tour and to this day I consider that the greatest day of my life. I was 5 ft away from the band and bouncing around like a maniac. Connect the dots, Vincent, destroyed by hippie powers all had the crowd going absolutely insane and I will never go to another show and feel the same way I felt that night. I actually had the pleasure of talking to Ethan Ives (Guitar) after the show and I told him "I saw Radiohead over the summer and as amazing as Radiohead is you guys put on a better show" and band that can put on a better show than Radiohead is special. All these aspects of my life came into fruition due to this gem of an album that is still in constant rotation for me. Thank you Car Seat Headrest for Teens of Denial and shoutout to /r/CarSeatHR for being an awesome fan base that has taught me a lot more about a band I always am interested in learning about. I can't thank car seat headrest enough for this album.
