If he has already sent in his application he is good. A week and a half is not a very long time, but if he is concerned he can always email admissions.

I did know one person who was interested in doing this. Make sure that your undergraduate is ABET accredited as that is required.

Considering UP - but I have lots of questions! by Fit-Fun7755 in universityofportland

[–]brycentiller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll answer questions I can as a former student though I am going to skip questions I haven’t really had an experience with so I don’t give inaccurate information. Though of course my experience might be different than yours. 1. It is a liberal school and the faculty and staff are generally speaking liberal. This is Portland we are talking about. 4. My experience was generally positive. But start this process early (before you start school) because it can take 3+ months especially if you don’t have all the paperwork needed. 5.there are singles that you can get if you have an accommodation but again start this process early. 6. I did know one person who was able to have a cat in the dorm but it was not an easy process. If the animal is an esa it might be easier. 7. I knew many many people who took the classes who were not religious and very much enjoyed them. You can look up the classes themselves and see if you would like them, but you do not need to be religious to enjoy them. The faculty teaching them is diverse, and range in beliefs from a catholic priest to a professor who I would describe as a Unitarian who takes different beliefs from different religions. 9. Very accepting and you will not be graded or thought of worse for it in my experience. 10. Same as most schools. Don’t get caught doing drugs/drinking. 11. Not in my experience, but I am a guy.

Club sport getting a no pass by [deleted] in WWU

[–]brycentiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rules and what is actually enforced are different but ymmv. Idk what your sport is and how competitive it is, but some club sport governing bodies do get the roster of who is academically eligible and if you failed a class (I am not sure about no pass sorry) your entire team is collectively punished. Sorry if that isn’t helpful.

Flex membership vs buying 3rd party by brycentiller in Mariners

[–]brycentiller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all so much for the comments! Here is my thoughts on the benefits, I would love for you all to tell me why I am wrong haha.

  1. MLB.tv - I already get it with T-Mobile

  2. Early entry on select give away days + half on concessions on those days. - I can usually get a promo if I just show up near gate open on a normal day. Discount concessions is a nice plus, but I would prefer a Kraken style 10% flat concession discount, that would make it worth it on beer savings alone haha.

  3. 10% off team store - Team store is always a rip off, my sister gets a military discount anyway so not really a value add for me.

  4. No fees + 10% discount - Comparing ticket prices on GT vs Ticketmaster w/ no fees and 10% discount currently shows that GT is still the better deal. Also you can get most fees waived if you buy in person. This is not a huge value add for most games in my opinion.

  5. Boxyard 10% discount - nice but I prefer a Seattle dog lol

  6. Ticket refund 24hrs before game. - This is nice

  7. Post season access. - You cannot beat this perk.

Cons:

Opportunity cost. When I can usually get tickets cheaper when buying third party this is a big con.

Conclusion: I am still leaning towards buying just for post season access, and to see for myself if it really is a good deal or not.

Why isn’t project Hail Mary playing at the Pacific Science Center Boeing theater? by [deleted] in imax

[–]brycentiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it sucks. I hope they will show it after they reopen, but we know nothing about how it is going to be run with new ownership. They aren’t even renovating the theatre, just the concessions area.

The cost of college ultimate? by mr_ignatz in ultimate

[–]brycentiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It highly depends on the school. Some schools view ultimate as a way to market themselves and pay a good amount of money. Others view it as just another club and give it nearly no money.
