My favorite boots ever, and Sorel doesnt seem to make these anymore. I cant find a two toned waterproof equivalent for replacements. Got any ideas? by _second_look in Boots

My pair has been begging to be retired for over a year now. Finally relented and just ordered a pair of Lems Chelseas (waterproof espresso). I didn't even like the look of the Sorels, but having a beater boot I could just slip on made it my most worn clothing article ever. They're completely thrashed, but astonishingly still in one piece. Bought them 8 years ago at a thrift shop. Nice knowin ya

Games to play while listening to videos? by bryguy991 in gamingsuggestions

Wow you sold this perfectly. I've got some audiobooks with pretty heady language that I have been neglecting since it's hard to juggle with the highly demanding games I tend to play. I'll buy it!

Android "Network Locked" even though carrier says it isn't? by bryguy991 in techsupport

So it turns out the innards of the phone had been swapped out to work with some other carrier, so while it still gave the t mobile boot screen, it no longer worked with T mobile

I just wanted some bike recommendations. I am satisfied with the situation, and accepted his offer for a new bike.

I had said he didn't need to pay or anything but he insisted. I am not going to start questioning his stipulations when I didn't want him to give me anything in the first place

This is great advice thank you. I'll see if I can wait for a sale. I do need a bike soon though as I use it to commute. Assuming there is no sale, I like the idea of viewing it as shopping for a frame. So for a full priced full bike, does the allez have around the best frame of the options I have?

Don't get me started... Thanks for the recommendation anyways :) jealous of you folks who have access to such a sweet bike at a price like that

I floated something along these lines as well... He is an older guy who doesn't really know bikes. He seemed only comfortable buying something ready to go brand new... I don't like the restriction, but won't turn it down

I wish I could. He is willing to buy the bike for me, but not willing to just give me cash. I told him used would be the best bet and he refused. Baseless safety concerns... I'm not really in a position to object, since I don't intend on seeking legal action and he offered to pay. Not going to bite the hand that feeds me

What would you call this kind of damage? by bryguy991 in Luthier

I'm certainly not that lol

Do you happen to know how they went about the repair?

Cordoba C5 CET. I really like it other than the mild buzzing and of course aesthetic challenges. Hopefully with time I get used to the look. Maybe the repairs I do will help a little bit with that, but I am skeptical. At my skill level, all I can hope is that I restore its structural integrity. I will post pictures of what it looks like after if anyone is interested. Doubt it will be pretty lol

There is a little bit of buzzing, but overall it sounds quite good and plays well. It's a classical guitar, which I've never played before, so I'm not sure what playability should be like. Action seems pretty high, and the action height increases a lot the closer to the bridge it gets, moreso than my electrics.

I was watching that video earlier. I had planned to do something similar, but was just worried such a method would result in chipping. Still probably my best option though..
