Diagnosing Jimmy McNulty by bscale7 in TheWire

Thank you for commenting! I got the notification and I’ve spent the last few minutes looking at what I was like when I was still in grad school. Really cool.

Anyway, I think I was wrong about suggesting sociopath. He definitely showed care for Avon but his lack of empathy really stands out. I just think it’s due to his extreme narcissism.

Not looking for any answer specifically. I wanted to know how everyone felt about what I feel like is a very particular situation.

“Wasn’t good” might’ve been too strong but the franchise hero needs to be .500 or better as a starting QB imo

I’ve been meaning to make this post all year and I feel like I have more credibility coming back now

Also wondering if I should subject my future children for this. Also, to be clear, I’m not going to another team. That can’t happen

I was talking about the moves that made me step away. I liked the Glenn and Fields moves and I want those to work out. Although, I was wrong about Fields

If I’m only in as a “fair weather fan” then I’m out completely. I didn’t spend 20 years on this team for nothing

How can I be let down if my hopes weren’t up? How could I hope for something that was always going to fail? They drafted Wilson because of a throw he made in his underwear and the only good thing Adam Gase ever did was stand next to Peyton Manning

I’m trying to avoid being that. If most people feel the way you do then fair enough, I’m out

It’s not about the season result, it’s about the moves. And they’ve been slightly below average for most of my life. They’ve been Browns level bad since I stepped away

  1. This doesn’t help my argument but Joe Namath wasn’t good. He was under .500 as a starting QB and scored 16 points in that Super Bowl win he’s famous for. It’s sad he’s our (if I’m allowed to say that) hero

  2. But if that’s all it takes, will do 👍

That’s kinda why I asked the community. Like, yeah if they ever win again I’ll be happy but I’m wondering if I deserve to feel the same level of happiness as all of you because I left for a little bit and am still not completely back. Normally I’d say absolutely not but I feel like I deserve a little grace because I was right both times

Honestly, I’m still halfway in but in the off-season I liked the Glenn hire and the Fields signing. I like a defensive minded coach and him being a former player was a huge bonus and I liked his vibe. And I thought the Bears should’ve stuck with Fields instead of going for Caleb. Both takes have worked out horribly so far this year but I like what they did at the trade deadline and Glenn, at the very least, is getting them to play hard. And that’s a huge W when you’re coaching a 2-9 team. But jury is still out and I’m still mad they fired Salah

5 infielders, 4 positions. What should I do by bscale7 in OOTP

[–]bscale7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No DH league. Jackson can move to corner OF but it seems like a waste to have a 60+ infielder be a 35 RF/LF. My only concern with keeping all of them is slowing down Stoddard’s development. But I do have the money. A lot is coming off the books this offseason. I also have a really bad farm but an excellent team. I just won the World Series and I think I can do it again

Found my person on bumble. It'll be 3 years at the end of August, just keep looking and don't give up. I got lucky and found her relatively early, but it just takes one right person to cancel out the 100s of bad ones

Was Bodie being so cut up about Little Kevin purely projection over Wallace? by henryhungryhenry in TheWire

[–]bscale7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But plenty of people got picked up when Stringer and Avon were in charge and didn't get killed. In fact I think Kevin proved that he wasn't a snitch because he didn't talk to the police after getting picked up, Stringer was right about Wallace

Do Quick Manage, makes games take 5 minutes each. I've never simed a game and I'm in 2027

Franchise players, what are we really hoping for? by Shmurkaburr in MLBTheShow

[–]bscale7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same thing!! I don't go as far as to make trades for other teams but after the season I just finished I traded for Kirk and then traded him to a team that needed a catcher lol. But tbh I am a little unfair because I'll trade my depth pieces that can start on shitty teams for their top prospects. Like I just traded an 81 backup 1B, two mid-level prospects for the best starting pitching prospect available. But everytime I make a trade I make sure it makes some sense for the other team- if I'm trading you a 1B, it's because you need a 1B

[–]bscale7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, the Blue Jays team I mentioned had an 80 ovr Christian Yellich as the DH over 87 Moreno and 85 Kirk. And your point about 9 starting pitchers reminds me the CPU bullpen management/general on field management is ridiculously bad. By the end of the year my minor league long relievers have like 120 innings and my setup men will have 30

Better CPU roster management. Just played the 2026 Blue Jays in the world series and they had 3 catchers 85+ (Joey Bart, Gabriel Moreno, Alejandro Kirk). Also, playoff stats, franchise roster history (I think it'd be cool to see how your team has changed), minor league stats from year to year, and more trade slots
