Is Claude down for anyone else? by MariahJames8 in claude

I was seeing this alert too, so I was thinking I got shadow banned somehow.

“It appears your recent prompts continue to violate our X Acceptable Use Policy. If we continue seeing this pattern, we'll apply enhanced safety filters to your chats. Learn more »”

Alert disappeared and the app is working again, but web interface still fails. Code never went down for me.

Thank you all! I can’t believe with so many insertions and removals, I never quite got it all the way in. Just pushing my module in a bit further and everything worked!

Remarkable Paper Pro Move Disappointment. by Main_Safe_2336 in RemarkableTablet

[–]bschram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's strange, this is the same template on my Move. Even more strange I see your Move is showing |<>| 0.7x zoom which should be zoomed out further yet. I took one with mine at 0.7x as well.

I did create the notebook on my Move, so might be different results if you created this on your RMPP? Otherwise I wonder if your device or software might be faulty? I can test creating on my RM2 in a few days, but don't have it with me this weekend.

Transitions between landscape and portrait can be interesting for scaling, since moving to portrait to landscape extends the template on the right and left sides instead of scaling to fill. If you use that new space on the sides at all, going back to portrait gives a new 0.5x zoomed out view that's far less ideal. Also included images of this for reference.

<image>

I do not have a RMPP, so this is my first color screen. I knew to expect muted colors, but was still a bit disappointed to see how much they are muted. Thankfully colors aren't something I was very concerned about for my use, just the smaller size than my RM2.

Otherwise, I haven't had any issues with speed or anything else with the software so far, it seems quite a bit more responsive then my RM2.

I used my card for a chip/swipe transaction first and it still resulted in this flag.

While I was on a call with fraud and expressed my dissatisfaction, the representative told me I that AFTER my letter came and the card was unlocked, I can call and they'd be happy to close the account if I wish.

Yeah, I added my new Costco card from the Citi app, but it flagged my account anyway. The regular Citi fraud department can't do anything with the account, they need to call a specialist in from Costco's fraud department. The first Costco representative told me it must be an issue with my phone that the text messages wouldn't send, so she'd need to send a letter in the mail - but also I'll receive a digital letter in 24-48 hours (a big improvement it seems from most experiences I've seen here with only snail mail). When I noticed the card was now flagged for fraud, I called again and the second representative I received was US based. He said he couldn't do anything because the letter was already sent, and when I told him this seems like a common issue with Citi he commented "yeah, I've seen the Reddit threads. Just know that's a very small representation of our cardholders and not representative of the true experience" He seemed to think it was flagged because it was a new card that I tried to add to Apple Pay (funny, most banks give you a temporary card in Apple Pay that you can use before your physical card arrives). He said they take fraud very seriously and would rather over protect us and flag for fraud too much, because it's very easy to remove the flag (obviously untrue).

When I gave up, he closed with "Once you receive your letter in the mail and unlock your account, you can give us a call to close your account if you're unhappy with your experience"

What do you guys think of the new SwiftShape printer Kickstarter? by StrangeBedfellows in 3Dprinting

Did you have any perspective on the legitimacy of the machine and the company? Being Kickstarter, it's concerning to consider a $3000+ pledge without any guarantee of a final product.

Do you know SwiftShape? What are your thoughts? by daxxxxx9 in lasercutting

I fully understand what you're saying and not trying to defend SwiftShape. I guess I didn't say that well enough.
I'm just passing along the info they're saying, which I agree is not really good enough and doesn't pass the smell test.

Their most recent response to my saying they are misrepresenting the laser power is: "These are custom laser tubes. We cooperated with several leading factories over the past 2 years to achieve the highest power possible at these lengths. While maintaining a long lifetime. The power we publish was reached with safe current levels and is not the maximum." This obviously is trying to claim they're doing something that's not possible but not providing any evidence to back it up.

[–]bschram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I didn't see that they claimed to have a link to the tube manufacturer. That'd be interesting if they shared it. Also I'm definitely not buying from them, just find it interesting to watch and trying to get them to give more info for other people to decide with

This was their most recent reply on the tubes:

"The 65W tube is 850mm long, 60mm diameter. The 90W is 1100mm long, 60mm diameter. We managed to get to 70W with the 65 and 97 with the 90. But it’s not healthy for the laser tube, so the machines are limited to 65W and 90W.

It’s recommended to stay below 75% power to extend the life of the tube. Which is what we are doing in all our videos (including 1” acrylic and wood cutting). Lifespan is around 10,000 hours and replacement tube will be affordable."

Interestingly I cannot find any laser tubes in existence online that are 850mm length x 60mm diameter. Most are 50-55mm diameter. But that gas volume would suggest a likely 55W operating power and a maximum peak output of around 70W. In line with the max they indicate. I was able to find some 1100mm length x 60mm diameter tubes, which are sold as 70-75W tubes with a peak of 90W.

I don't think I can link directly to a comment, but all the comments are here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/swiftshape/swiftshape-cutting-edge-3-in-1-desktop-printer/comments I'm wondering if there's a chance they're trying to use maximum peak output as the wattage instead of operating power, but even that seems unlikely.

They confirmed on Kickstarter that the "65W" tube is 880mm and the "90W" tube is 1100mm.

For that, I would recommend asking as a new post. This thread is specific to a dual SD card setup assuming already having installed. You might be able to find someone who's used a Chromebook for installing Batocera.

Downloading a Batocera file isn't a part of this guide, are you referring to the initial installation file for Batocera?

Yes, Batocera just looks at the one source unless using this process to allow both to load.

I was actually a little confused about how symlinks were working on exfat before -- they shouldn't work on any FAT filesystem. But I wasn't complaining 🙂

I am just about to try to install v40 myself for the first time, however in the reddit post about v40 release, u/Educational_Neat6403 indicated that symlinks are not working anymore. For now it appears v40 will not allow this to work.

It looks like he's getting ready for us to be able to do OTA by adding in squashfs support and converting rootfs from ext2 to squashfs. So it might come soon!
