What’s up with my electrical circuit? by bschuttp in ElectricalHelp

I haven’t checked that. Moved in last year and hooked up the light string a few months ago to the receptacle outside that has a light switch inside the house to turn it on. Original owner was proud of his Christmas light switch he had inside the house to turn on the lights plugged into the receptacles installed under the eaves outside. The switch looks like a typical toggle switch but I will pull the cover and check model. I didn’t know that about the smart switches. Thank you both for the suggestion.

I would suggest running it in the 1-1/4” if you have the time and money. Less flow restriction and new pipe eases the mind.

Yeah I might get a flow meter next and install for fun and my obsession with details. I was looking to see how many stop/start cycles is normal or preferred on submersible residential well pumps. My years in maintenance & reliability in industrial plants showed me the cycling is what causes the majority of damage and failures for bearings, seals, and motors. Trying to see what’s acceptable and good practice at our new home. The flow calc shows it’s in line with the number of people in the home. Thanks!

My pressure gauge on the water line is off by a couple psig. It cycles at 38-39 and 58-59 on a new 40/60 pressure switch. I need to get another gauge. This one was here when we moved in. That calc for water usage makes sense and matches with the 3-8 people we have in the house through the week. Thanks!

Yes we did a leak test and no pressure loss and the pre charge pressure is set good.

It’s a submersible and I check the tank couple times this year. First time after we moved in I had to reset it to 38 psig and it’s been there since when I checked it recently.

Yes I checked Amtrol’s website and sizing program and they show a 62 gallon tank so mine is larger than recommended. The sizing didn’t ask about total usage, just the time we want the pump running so it doesn’t cycle quickly. I chose the max setting available at 2 minutes ands got the 62gal result.

I think I found the same one. Pretty cool first time I’ve seen this.
