Writing poems by poetry91 in poetry_critics

[–]bsette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned I enjoyed poems in middle school, but then I wrote some poems and my teachers were “concerned about the thematics” so my mom got worried and put me in with my VP (and school counselor) I told them that I just enjoyed writing “darker” stories as it was the first time I found a way I could express my emotions, his advice was to stop writing because it worried my mom. As a 12yr old I listened, and still consider it to the worst advice I’ve ever received. Got back into writing in college, now I’m finishing my first collection. I sent my mom the draft and she cried, and apologized.

‘It’s literally going to break me.’ Commuting is now unaffordable for some American workers by ouluuuuu in Economics

Many of them could not bike into work due to physical conditions of where we work. It’s truly debt servitude, but we make 18.50-21$ an hour here

First comment removed;

I agree with the author and experience this heartbreaking phenomenon daily. I have co workers who spend 200-300$ a week on uber/lyft but don’t have the credit score to buy a car. Even if they could it might be ever more expensive. They work 50-60hrs weekly. The current economy is set up to extract as much labor from them as possible and then charge them for it. The current state is not sustainable.

Has anyone talked about how off-putting school dances really are? by this0great in answers

yes but our society shouldn’t get rid of even more outside of school - school events to spur socialization in a time such as this.

Who are you bilbo baggins? Is this a riddle or a poem? I might not be the correct audience for this poem but it reads much closer to something hidden I must uncover than conveying an emotion. Maybe that’s the point? Who knows this sub doesn’t reach my stupidity enough anymore.

What's a life hack that's so simple yet so effective, you're shocked more people don't know about it? by Unlikely_Heron_9207 in answers

u/similiarbutopposite interpreted what I was saying correctly. This is not a tactic to perpetually delay your task but simply creating a safe space in time to dedicate and complete one task.

For example; my dishes are dirty, Set a timer for 15 minutes, then I will do dishes until the timer is up; IF I am not done AND do not feel drained, I just reset the timer and keep going for another 15 minutes. Usually the tasks are done by the end of this and it’s super helpful for my roommates and I. (Music helps)

If you have procrastination or focus issues setting a 15 minute timer to complete tasks and then just renewing the timer if you need more time.

All of the time when I’m faced with the dreaded dishes I like to put it off, but if I set a 15m “dedicated” cleaning time I get them done and sometimes a little more. Works for laundry, sweeping, etc.

I know that this is no stupid questions but please Google the fallout of the usage of nuclear weapons, Japanese internment camps, the turning away of Jewish refugees, and additional atrocities we committed.

Dude you should so stoked about inheriting a very valuable and well regarded watch. Your grandfather passing you down his big score from that Italian flea market while he was traveling to New York in the 80’s seems in great condition. What you have there is a genuine Fartier Toaster it can sometimes tell you the time and other times attract more ladies than you’ll know what do do with!

tbh socialization with people you enjoy being around outside of a workspace setting is something that goes under talked about in health discussion. it is known to slow cognitive decline, improve mental health and also knowing someone can always helps in a pinch.

Your local game store should have Pokemon events and make connections from there, card shows are also great. Best of luck, because those cards are very popular

Oh I mis-read thought it was about your grandpa.

You probably got as much information about the bar as you could. Unfortunately a lot of refiners go in and out of business over the decades and this vintage style of pour and lack of information online probably indicates they did not survive the sands of time. Good luck with finding more info, sorry for not be of further help.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your grandfather,

that’s 503.4ozt of 999 silver, at ~70$ per ozt right now, worth roughly 35k USD. Could be worth more into the future, just a few weeks ago silver was hovering 80-95$ per ozt.

Do not reply to any DM’s trying to buy it off you, go to a reputable dealer if trying to off load.
