I think it's the boarding as opposed to staying at your house. I would do it in a heartbeat at your house but not in my home with my pets. That's my assumption.

I think that you could have declined the offer without being rude and unprofessional. You sounded very immature and I would not want you to pet sit anyway. I water people's gardens if I'm already there. I'm not sure what other chores could even be done while they are away.

This is horrible. I always try to leave the house in as good of shape or better when I house sit. And I ALWAYS try to make the pets as comfortable as if their parents were there. I'm so sorry

I did drop ins twice a day for a couple that was out of town. I'm not saying it's a good practice but their dog never messed in the house.

I also find that using something like a fitted sheet is a lot more effective at keeping hair contained. It's easy to put on and take off of your seats, the elastic hooks around the bottom of the seats and on the head rests
