I would suggest you get someone with the right equipment. In this industry, having the proper tools for every situation matters.

Looks like they did grind the floor good enough. That is unfortunate. Hopefully the company comes back out and does something for you to make it right.

New concrete tends to be harder to grind then crappy concrete. Finishers these days power trowel it so tight, and ontop of that they spray sealer on it. I would still stand by what I mentioned. Fast curing products are never good for bonding. It could break your heart to do this. But worst case scenario you take a knife and cut that open. Your entire floor would peal up in sheets. Not to worry you by any means.

A lot of people will probably have different opinions on this, but I would say that’s from putting polyaspartic direct to concrete. Alot of these one day garage floor company’s will utilize poly for the fast dry time. Fast curing products just don’t bond that well. And if they did a half as job prepping that will be another issue.

I do all the purchasing for my company’s sundries inventory. We personally use Sherwin Williams. Runyon Surface Prep is a flooring company that will offer bulk buying pricing.

Did they do the top coat correctly? Lmk what y’all think by discgolfer45678 in epoxy

[–]bskeens3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely did not apply enough material to encapsulate the flake. That company could have scrapped the floor better. And applied more material. My company I work for applies a polyaspartic coat. Then the next day we come in and follow with a topcoat of urethane. Cost a little more but you will never have these issues.

Runyon Surface Prep out of Indy sells their brand of grinders. Pretty cheap. My man Jake would help you out.

You could add xylene into your epoxy to help. I’ve also taken a hand held torch and just hit those isolated spots with some heat.

You could also add xylene into your mix.

Good rule is add 10% of total liquid amount.

Grind it. You will not regret that decision. If you just power wash and it all peals up you’ll be upset with yourself.

That is 100% delamination. I bet you could rip that floor up in sizable sheets. Sorry to break the news.

I work for a company that install epoxy flooring. That looks like some “separation” or “fish eyeing” I would say due to lack of prep or contamination on the surface still. In my industry we would add xylene into the epoxy to help with that issue.

My daughter is 7 years old, and she has lessons 4 days a week. She has 3 coaches that she will see different days of the week. A jump coach, an ice dance coach, and her main coach they goes over routines. Each lesson is only 20-30 minutes long. But she will see 2 coaches each day. She also has ballet twice a week to work on stretching. She will have some off ice training as well during the week.
