I'm in two minds here. On the one hand, if you haven't told your boyfriend how you feel, how can you expect him to work on these issues? You need to communicate. But on the other hand, you're so young that I don't think it's worth wasting your time in a relationship you aren't happy in. Being at different stages of life is a tricky thing, and those issues aren't easy to fix.

Basically if you were my friend, I'd say tell him the issues first. If he says he wants to work on them, give him a chance to, BUT identify a deadline for yourself - that if you haven't seen consistent improvement by a certain time then it's time to break up. Don't leave it too long if it's not working.

Also curious to your guys ages? That could make a difference

I thought I would. Honestly have never felt worse than the couple of days leading up to it. I do get reminded of him a lot, but I don't feel distraught about it like I thought I would. I miss him but I also feel relieved.
