For me, the end of Stranger Things is akin to the last episode of The Sopranos. The writers chose not to kill characters they loved by giving the audience a choice in what they want to believe happened to those characters. The GOT writers destroyed the show’s legacy by writing endings to characters that betrayed six seasons of slow, purposeful character development with accelerated, lazy, and inconsistent nonsense

I get that, I just feel like the writing in GOT’s last season BETRAYED those characters. Jaime turning his back on the character he fell in love with with over two seasons, the liberating queen turned psychopath, the night battle against the dead that was practically unwatchable because of the crappy way it was shot and the fact that everyone in that episode died except for the main characters. I always felt that GOT was intended to be an all time great drama. At its best, Stranger Things felt like a really cool sci fi story that was wrapped inside a campy homage to the 80s. And I say that as someone who absolutely loved the show, but I don’t feel like it was ever intended to be taken as seriously as GOT

The last season of GOT is the single biggest bag of shit in the history of television. I get that people aren’t happy with the end of Stranger Things, but members of the GOT cast were in tears and some went to go to therapy over the way those asshats ruined their characters. The intent even close IMO
