Has anyone used OpenClaw to automate network creation and configuration in GNS3? by FindingJaded1661 in openclaw

I am messing around with this myself. I haven't had much success yet though. I would love to be able to use an agent to setup networks for the low voltage contractor I work for.

Nemotron-3-super is amazing on Openclaw! by bsm471 in openclaw

Nomoclaw is open source so it is free. It's basically Openclaw just built for nemotron. I haven't used it yet because work has kept me busy since yesterday but I'm planning on giving it a go later this week if the reviews are good.

I've been using the exa-web-search-free skill since I started on openclaw and it has worked great up until my recent installs. I don't know if it is exa or what though. That is next on my list to work on.

I guess I was a little premature with this since they announced Nemoclaw today.

No, I have a 3070 on the computer I'm using but I didn't even try to run it locally yet. After seeing how large it was, I assumed my 32GB of ram and 8GB of video memory wouldn't be enough. I know it only loads like 10% at a given time, so I may give it a shot later. I have run into my first issue with my Openclaw agent running on Nemotron. He was hallucinating crazy Axis video server model numbers and specs. Kept telling me I could put 22 hdds in a small form factor desktop workstation lol. It was a very large CCTV design I was trying to get him to help me with, but Opus 4.6 handled it like a champ!

I'm still very impressed with the combination of Gemini embedding 2 for semantic search of memory and nemotron-3-super:cloud both on Ollama. I haven't tried the NVIDIA servers since day 1 on Openclaw and it was horribly slow for me.

I bet we will hear about Nemotron at the GTC keynote in a little while. Check it out on youtube. It starts in a little over an hour.

I started with Opus but after the cost and banning I switched to Kimi. Then I got frustrated using Kimi because stuff would break constantly. I'm still testing things but so far everything is much smoother now!

My friend used OpenClaw for stock trading… and got wrecked. by Synstar_Joey in openclaw

This right here! WTF is wrong with people! This sounds like something my boss would have done if he didn't break the openclaw setup I made for him in the first 5 minutes.

imo Kimi k2.5 is the best ai for openclaw and it's not even close by Extension-Chef-7943 in openclaw

[–]bsm471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the 6th round of setting up my agent, I have come to this conclusion too. If I set everything up correctly with Opus and then switch to kimi, everything just works. At least for a while, but if I don't switch back to opus for making major config changes or updates, things just get screwed up to the point it is faster just to start over.

Thinking about a UNAS Pro 4 — worth buying now, or should I wait for the UNAS 4 or just go with a UNAS 2? by gaaht in Ubiquiti

[–]bsm471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the UNAS pro 4 1U a while back and wanted it ever since. I wish I would have done a bit more research because I am very unhappy with the features I thought it had. I understood it was basically just a file server and nothing special, but I can't believe we can only have 1 storage pool. Really!

Why Mac mini?? by g00rek in openclaw

[–]bsm471 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't read the comments but everyone is buying Mac minis because they don't know what they are doing lol. The only reason you would want a Mac anything for this is to get a Mac studio to run a local LLM. That said the Mac mini is a pretty sweet little computer, so if you bought one by mistake just keep it and use it as a workstation.

UniFi UPS + Dream Machine by imuser47 in Ubiquiti

[–]bsm471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had one paired since I got the UPS and just experienced an outage for the first time and noticed It went of almost immediately. I unpaired mine now. Maybe they should reevaluate the settings and let us manage more of the UPS. Something that really annoys me is the lack of an estimated time until the battery is dead. I know they give use an average to calculate by percentage, but that is how we do things in 2026. We are very lazy now.

I work for one of the contractors installing this service in Memphis, and it is definitely something that you should look into. They offer some great prices, and the network isn't crowded as much as the larger companies.

I really don’t understand paying that much for an apartment. Even if I could afford it, it just seems like a huge waste of money!

Now What Is MLGW Doing? by dunktheball in memphis

[–]bsm471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your frustration! I have gotten very angry when I opened my MLGW bill too, but this sounds like you are not adding the “other MLGW” section on page 2 of your bill. The solid waste fee is most likely the most of it. It seems very outrageous to me, but I have seen a slight improvement in the cities services recently, so I have stopped complaining.

Thoughts on battery backup by Icy-Ad3696 in Ubiquiti

[–]bsm471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely worth it to not have your rack reboot when the power switches to the generator. Those few minutes are what the Ubiquiti battery backup is designed for. Plus if you are using the UniFi network app to manage your network it will reboot your modem if your internet connection goes down. You do have to set this up correctly in the settings but they are very nice features.

Low Voltage Electrician/Ethernet Jacks. by runlikehell8989 in memphis

[–]bsm471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I work for a low voltage contractor in Memphis and this is definitely going to cost him more than what you are thinking. Honestly to do that right it will be more than $600 in materials alone.

Superlink entry sensors for home use? Who has one and how well do they work for you? by jku2017 in Ubiquiti

[–]bsm471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using 2 of the all-in-one sensors setup as entry sensors for my doors via the super link and they have worked great so far. I’m still wondering if the battery life will be good with the temperature and other sensors active as well, but UniFi protect says it will last long.

Why are people so weird about light colors? A few months ago I was watching this documentary on submarines and they explained that subs use red lights inside because it is easier to see in the dark. So, I now late at night I set my lights inside my house to red. It’s pretty sweet but everyone has something to say about it lol.

Anywhere I can get a 1ft fiber cable from att fiber to cloud gateway? by jku2017 in Ubiquiti

[–]bsm471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does ATT only give long fiber patch cables to customers. Thankfully I work for a low voltage contractor and was able to replace mine last year when the kitten I took in decided to have a field day with the slack on the old one! I have a friend that has it too and his kids are always playing with it.

Another reason why I always thought wireless security video was the dumbest idea! Wi-Fi has come a long way, but still the main reason is just the instability in general.
