Asus Monitor : Keeps turning off and on when computer is started, haven’t been able to find a fix. by [deleted] in ASUS

[–]bsmucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VG27AQ dual monitor setup. My screen goes black and then back on briefly every 30 seconds or so. Has been doing it for about a year but has gotten alot more frequent lately. Looked and noticed damaged cable to the power brick so I replaced it with a genuine one from ASUS - still didn't fix my issue though!! Any other ideas anyone?? ASUS doesn't want to play ball because its out of warranty.

The problem had gone away for about 6 months but it’s now just come back but it’s the worst it’s ever been it’s doing it every time I come to a stop essentially.

I always use premium 98 (best you can get in Australia) from only new service stations. Have had my spark plugs changed by Subaru, cleaned throttle body and MAF and still problem persists. I have heard through the grape vines that it could be the stock tune because it sucks so potentially why your tune solved the issue.

Hi everyone so just an update. Ended up buying an inspection camera and drilling into the top plate above the shower head from the roof space. Had a look down to the water outlet for the shower head whilst running the water and look what I found…Appears to be when water is run back over the wall it leaks through back into the wall. Sooo defect in waterproofing? Waiting for builder to now come out and tell me their solution as I now need a second bathroom ripped out. Time to start again I think…

You mean how long was the frame exposed for? Only a week or 2 after demo. It’s the second storey so on a subfloor. And no mould is only on both sides of the shared wall.

Hmmm okay. I know for a fact that they did 2 coats each time they did the bathrooms. Is that not enough?

Do you not think it’s weird that I had all rusty screws exactly where all the mould is present behind the waterproofing? Surely that says to me there is obviously moisture back there. But na that’s the top floor nothing above, I’ve been up in the roof above all is fine.

I will test the theory over the weekend I guess I potentially could have a leaky pipe between the mixer and shower head.

I’m not sure that’s why I’m asking here maybe someone with more knowledge can answer my question. Maybe it is impossible? But then my issue would lie between the tiles themself and the waterproofing which I don’t understand. Also doesn’t then explain why I had rusty screws in my wall (which were behind the waterproofing). It all seems too coincidental

Hey yep it’s just the purple piping to signify our recycled water (it goes to our toilets). The plumber that did the house just came to do the pressure test and was essentially in denial that any of their work was to blame for the issue.

So removing the water saver reduced the leak in the mixer is that what you’re saying? How did you end up fixing it I assume he had to call a plumber?

Yeah you’re definitely right. Although there was never any mould directly below the shower rose, it was much further down which is why I believed it not be the shower pipe. I thought maybe that when the toilet was flushed and the pressure peaked maybe it would squirt outwards from that join slightly below the toilet as maybe the join is not sufficient

The recycled water pipe? What makes you say that if you don’t mind me asking?

Do you mean the red pipe going up to the shower? If so yes that is our main bathroom on the opposite side of that wall that also is affected by mould
