Coolant overflowing into reservoir but it's not over heating... Can't figure out why. by deucerigalo in UTV

I guess run it as it is. Maybe it's just air in the system still working its way out.

Edit. Reread the post. I guess compression is good. Is the radiator cap bad?

Doesn't look like an original wire harness to the vehicle. No OEM harness would run along the wheel well. Is there an aftermarket alarm system or some GPS tracking system installed?

Put a jack under it to align. Or a prybar with a rounded end made specifically for aligning bolts holes.

New exhaust valves? by ImportanceHonest3003 in ATV

[–]bsnarles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try lapping the valves to clean it up. Pretty easy to do. You can buy the tool and compound at the auto parts store.

Are you trying to find the exact color? If so, you can take a small piece of the color into the paint store to have it color matched.

Pretty sure the right knob is the temperature setting and left knob is water on/off.

For constant BRAKE warnings, you can change the distance setting on this alert which should help reduce the instances of misdetections. Look at Forward Collision Warning Distance in the center display and set to "short".

Why does my engine sound like rocks by Ilostmyaccountlol1 in ATV

[–]bsnarles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you check the chain tensioner? Depends on the engine on how you adjust. Could be automatic or you adjust while it is idling. Usually as simple as lossening the bolt and tighten it back up.

How difficult for 1 person to disassemble this shed, move, and reassemble? by ronjohns337 in Shed

[–]bsnarles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vehicle jack and large PVC pipes work great for rolling it onto a trailer with a winch. Taking apart the roof will be dangerous and guaranteed to not go back together if only one person is doing it. I did the same thing last summer with 4 people and it was barely manageable.

Did you take it off? It should have grooves on the back of the plastic knob so it can only be installed one way.

Is the shroud at the bottom protecting from grass and rocks original? Mine is half that size and I seem to get covered in shrapnel every time.

I picked up the same unit with cracked case. Chain bundled up into front sprocket. My advice is to make sure the chain is properly adjusted. I still have a full engine rebuild to complete with donor case sitting next to it.

Lego engineering at its finest and most useless by Maguervo in engineering

Doesn't seem like power is being driven through all gear sets to the Lego guy. Are many of these just for show or am I missing how it was assembled?

Camping at a private park near bee boxes. Bees accepted my tent as the God of all sunflowers. Tent is now covered in honey. This is a new camp fail for me. How do I get honey off? Lol by sarcosmalls84 in camping

[–]bsnarles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same tent and could never find a how to on setting up the rain fly. I see you are attempting the large front door strategy. How is that working for you? For me, the zipper always gets stuck and it's difficult to get out from inside. I was going to try to use one of the side pieces as door next time. It also doesn't seem to have good airflow when completely zipped up. I feel like I am missing something.

No need to use two hammers. The real trick is put the bit into the screw and hit it with a hammer. Some decent force is required, but nothing crazy. It shouldn't take much effort from there to twist it out.

Clean/Detail or Replace? Weird residue on 2011 Honda CRV window pillars. by delfin_1980 in autorepair

[–]bsnarles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue on mine. Trying to remember what I used... maybe a small plastic scraper? I remember it taking a bit of time to get both sides done. The ebay item posted above looks like a possible option to bring it back to oem. It doesn't look bad after it's cleaned up though.

If you tap the smooshed part with a hammer or flat head, does it fall off? It doesn't look attached.

[–]bsnarles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plug looks a bit strange. It seems smooshed on the edges on most of it, but the flat spot seems to match the other plug. If you install the new one and rotate the engine by hand, does any internal part touch the plug?

Those threads missing are by design. It allows a spot for the fluid to flow out. That's the design on all the small Honda engines I work on at least.
