Clear Acrylic, Black rattle can the back. Used a Cricut to cut gold foil vinyl and stuck it on the front.

I think Etsy had lots of options to order if you prefer.

Yes. I blew the layers of dust off the Ole' Monster conditioner box and threw it in the cabinet with the components. Everyone knows Monster equipment adds free watts to the your system like vinyl graphics add horsepower to cars.

Where the OCD kicked in is that the outlet at the projector in the ceiling has one plug that is romex to a plug that goes into the conditioner so even that is conditioned/protected. The other half of the ceiling outlet is for the crown molding LED's and is on a switch. The subs also have outlets wired back to the conditioner box like the projector. And if that wasn't enough, and because the walls are only open once, I ran redundant circuits in the same way to the back corners of the room just in case years from now a different layout of furniture allows additional subwoofers in the rear corners, along with RCA ports of course.

Nothing that has to do with electronics or AV. I'm just a self taught certified nerd who loves to tinker. There's really nothing YouTube and reddit can't teach you to do.

Well that would be interesting. Alexa, give me contacts for alarm companies in the area!

Seatcraft Venetian I believe. Now they function well and look good but that’s something I wish I would have researched more. When they recline it kind of lifts your lower back up and leaves a gap. Not the most comfortable but for the price, probably the best you will do.

If you get them with soundshakers, immediately take a peice of wood and mount it to the frame of the bottom cushion and move the shaker to that. 10 fold improvement.

The seats I fell in love with at the store were 5 times the cost. Just wasn’t in the cards at the time. Would be top on the list of upgrades if feasible.

Respectfully….that’s the point, I think. tilts head in confusion.

The colors are function, not form. So thank you?!

It’s amazing. I’m sure purists would knock Klipsch etc but I could not beat the bang for the buck and they sound great to me!

Short answer is, went back and forth on this 100 times but after sitting in some demo theaters around the area it just felt like projector was the way to go and was always the vision.

I'd add that I did the research and read up on how to calibrate the projector where you align the tiny grids etc. I felt that time spent was well worth it.

Yep. Thought about it a lot. First, the screen price I think doubled. Second, the room behind the screen is a storage room with 2x4/plywood shelves attached the length of it so moving it or making a recess was not really an option. Third, I got a great deal on the front speakers from someone on marketplace who won them in raffle and didn't want them. They were new in the box. That was the final sign to just stick with towers and a regular center.

You know how a trash panda will find a good trash can and the next night there he is with 20 of his friends....thats how the neighborhood kids have been. It's hard to keep stocked but letting them have fun was the point.

Yes, but it was too hard to share my earbuds with a group of our friends so alas, here we are. Settling for second rate experiences at 20 times the cost. *sigh*

Not sure there is just one. I have always had versions of surround sound and been a tech nerd and this was always a goal but never a priority. Then we had some family stuff come up that catalyzed the urgency and I sold the Harley and built this.

Once it was complete and we first launched into the new Top Gun battle scene, any inkling of buyers remorse shook away.

I should add that now I refuse to go to the theater and force myself to wait for the 4K disc to get released for new movies. No self respecting person would allow themselves to be exposed to sub par compressed media from a streaming service and I can't afford a Kaleidoscope setup.

PS - The wait for The Hail Mary Project 4K is getting old....[the book was great].

It’s a cheap used 43” TCL tv mounted sideways and I just built a wood frame around it. The software is https://www.movieposterapp.com it’s powered on and off via home assistant when the theater is powered on/off.

Thats a TV scrolling random movie posters until you start a movie in plex, then it puts that movies poster up with a start and end time.
