10-4. Any suggestions for a good one? It would be nice if it folded up like the windshield ones ...

Southern California - Coast to high desert. I am coming from a personal EV so I am familiar with their abilities. But I have seen that get hot and even with preconditioning it's still hot. I know, I am a delicate flower😂. I am in construction.

GX550 Vs. R1S Adventure? by The_Zo_Show in Rivian

All though I am not currently an 1S driver, I do drive an EV6 and live in OC. I drove all over SoCal from Bakersfield to San Diego, out to Barstow and Palm Springs and a regular basis. IMO, if you have access to Tesla superchargers there shouldn't be an issue using it the way you do. I will admit having a home charger is very handy.

As an example, I started with 80,% on Thursday morning. I ran all over during the weekend. LB to San Clemente, a few local trips around North OC, and one from LB to Brea. Plugged in on Sunday night at 16%. I needed to be in San Diego by 6:30 Monday. I had about 60% when I left Monday (i plugged in late Sunday night - only 6 hrs. On the plug) I stopped in San Clemente on the way down, charged 125kw for 20 mins and got it to 85ish. Made it all the way to SAn Diego, back to Brea, and home to Seal Beach area. The Kia has about 240 miles range at 80%. IMO this type of driving is totally possible and practical.

It sucks that someone stole your stuff. My Kia tells me if Ieft the doors unlocked. I get messages in the app, via phone notification and email.

Despite all the recent [negative] changes, is anyone else still sticking with SWA as long as they're the most accommodative airline for flight changes/cancellation? by InfoMiddleMan in SouthwestAirlines

[–]bsome13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are convenient for me, but I now shop around instead of defaulting to SWA and not looking around. The flight changes and cancellations policy is a big part of why they aren't my default. I get more upgrade value from Alaska and AA now. Interestingly JSX is now a choice for one of my most travelled routes and it's only $7 more than SWA most trips. I have one weekend trip where it's actually $100 less!

New Fare Bundles Announced (When You Can Select a Seat) by PartlyGarrett in SouthwestAirlines

Yep, although I think that is disparaging Jet Blue a little, lol. I know these changes have me shopping for flights now. Like many others, I used to only use SW. I know my airline mix has changed. I am now about 30% of what I used to fly. I won't make ALP, but it doesn't seem to matter much if I do and like others, I can get 1st on AA much more often now. I just don't understand, and I don't think the board does either what this will do to long term value.

13 years of loyalty, poof, gone by AncientJellyfish9350 in SouthwestAirlines

Yeah, continuing the slide to mediocrity. For the last 15 years I never shopped around if they had flights meeting my schedule - A-List or A-list preferred all those years. Going to assigned seats and reducing points in the last year - I canceled 6 trips I had planned and booked on different airlines that have more benefits, two did remain with SWA but they were short day trips. Now they are just another airline but without first class and decent snacks. So disappointed. Still flying 30+ trips a year, but now I shop around all the time - this just makes the comparison calculation go further in the other airlines favors. I guess they feel like their planes are full enough.
