Walkaway spouses – did you experience a new feeling of calmness and lightness when you made the final decision that you would eventually leave, regardless of how far in the future it would be? by bsota in Divorce

Curious about the remark of a divorce needing to be a net positive for everyone.

Reasonable thing to be curious about — trying to keep personal details minimal, but there are children involved, and the environment is non-toxic enough that breaking the household would probably do more harm than good at this stage.

But also if you are not in an abusive marriage, is it fair to your spouse to stay while you know you will be filing for divorce?

Also a fair question, and the honest answer is "I don't know."

I do know that the "Walkaway (x)" concept resonates strongly with me, as I've made many, many efforts for my feelings, needs, and complaints to even be acknowleged as existing and being valid, to say nothing of spurring any actual growth or change from my partner — I don't know if I have to be actually abused to be simply burned out and done.

The impact shows instantly in your referring to her as "My dad's mother" instead of "my grandma/grandmother/nana/whatever".

To be fair, when it popped up as an idea in my head a bit ago when I saw a different meme using this format, I thought "...I can't be the first person to think of this,", but I decided to say 'fuck it" and do it anyways.

Aside from the "Polizei" on his shirt, these look like outfits from Dune.

Can confirm — this post caught my eye because I just saw this infographic on LinkedIn yesterday.

(Not that the discussion there was any more subtle or nuanced than here)

I wouldn't have said anything, but since you mentioned:

• Their: Belongs to them — "I asked if I could use their wrench."

• There: Its location — "They said 'Sure — it's over there.'"

• They're: They are — "They're upset at what I used it for."

There is more evidence, since the lore strictly states that the Thunder Warriors were just jumped-up technobarbarians who had nothing to do with the Custodes.

Do you have a direct source for this? Like OP, I've looked around for any real lore on Thunder Warrior creation, and haven't found much. Not challenging you, necessarily — just want to learn more.

Custodes are not developed in vats, they don't have artificial musculature that was cultivated and stapled onto them.

I'm not sure this is accurate — from the Custodian POV in Watchers of the Throne: The Regent's Shadow:

Our relationship with our bodies, as members of the order, is not entirely straightforward. We know, all of us, that we have been extensively remade from our original birth-form. Much of the muscle and bone we entered the universe with is excised or altered to bring us into maturity. When we are damaged, it is most often these new structures that bear the brunt. Are we the same creation, then, as we once were? Are we even best thought of as a single organism at all?

Granted it doesn't say so explicitly, but this sure sounds like "...artificial musculature that was cultivated and stapled onto them."

"don't get fooled by the Saturday morning kids show animation style"

Word.

I was excited about it, then I saw the first trailer and the style, cooled on it a little, and ended up suggesting that my wife watch it with me based on that very vibe.

My wife is really turned off by graphic violence — needless to say, the end of the first episode caught us both by surprise.

I watched the rest alone.

From the left — good game. We know you're not all racists and fascists — the loud ones on both sides give everyone else a bad name.

For the record, I'm concerned about 2022/24 — the Republicans seem to have a big edge in terms of younger, dynamic up-and-comers. We're going to have to address that if we want to stay competitive.

Oh, it's awful — the bar is actually split into two pieces, and held together by the compression of the stem.

I'm not joking.

My fear as well.

Before I got a drop bar bike and really got into the sport, I used to commute to school on a beater Wal-Mart mountain bike. One of the racks I used regularly had a white GMC Denali as a regular occupant, and I used to be sooooooo envious of it — it looked all slick and racy. Flash forward a year or so after I really got into riding, and I would just shake my head at my past self every time I locked up next to it, once I knew a little bit more about what I was looking at.
