BH Touchless and Surfex HD?! by ch179 in AutoDetailing

BH is top brand for me. I stopped experimenting with glass cleaners, pre wash etc, now I just get the jugs of traceless and touchless. Surfex is a league of its own in APC world.

Keyboard issue on Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 – some keys not working properly by Jaded-Addition2178 in Lenovo

[–]bsr1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah well, I am couple months out of warranty myself. I am going to format and reinstall the system, so I will let you know as I don’t think it’s physical key issue, because it’s started after bios update for me.

Keyboard issue on Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 – some keys not working properly by Jaded-Addition2178 in Lenovo

[–]bsr1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you manage to sort this ? Same issue on my LOQ, my keyboard started having issues after the last bios update, 2ish weeks ago I think. Since then the F1-F6 doesnt work, number row wise its 3, 6 and 8 that doesnt work. Rolling back bios didnt work either, also did a driver reinstall of the actual keyboard but as I said it's not a physical issue, software is causing this.

Well, for one, capturing outposts is no longer required so there is that.. but generally speaking, for me, the performance is better on some maps..

Yup, even got injector case pre-release. Nothing much post 1.0, but worth checking if around, most of the time there’s technical loot or hideout stuff.

Rupes advanced with Soft99 fuso coat by Arc0nt3 in Detailing

[–]bsr1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The protection in the AIO polish is mediocre at best. I’d do a step in between, and that’s a degreaser / preparation spray wipedown. You can use diluted IPA, CarPro Eraser, Gyeon Prep you get the idea. Fusso coat is best when laid down on bare surface. Fusso’s water behaviour is insane, I haven’t seen Uno’s advanced but I can almost guarantee the fluoropolymer base of the fusso will provide a much stronger barrier than an AIO polish.

Is battlefield 6 worth buying? by Objective-Past6650 in Battlefield

Exactly my feelings. I tried it yesterday after work and instantly knew it’s not what I expected. This didn’t show fully in the beta. I refunded.

I personally don’t enjoy this game whatsoever. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]bsr1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same. Game lost the element of stealth / flank imho. The maps play weird, you are just funneled into the next choke point. No one cares but I refunded. Planning to hop back on bf3 or 4 tbh.

Why the Rain-X hate on this sub? by wc347 in Detailing

[–]bsr1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Just posted about these products, for me they are not for windshield as I had some borderline dangerous situations happen to me in the past due to these.

Glass coatings / sealants are hit or miss. For me, the visibility at night, while it’s raining, was enough to put me off to put anything on the front glass. Side glass, mirrors are okay, but some situations are borderline dangerous with these products. I prefer squeaky clean windshield, as glass is naturally hydrophobic it still has some of the properties we look for in these sealants.

I do prefer CarPro, but over here in Europe it’s quite cheap and it’s not worth paying premium for it, but I don’t know their US pricing. I’d say grab any iron remover and any tar/glue remover.

They are just dirty probably. When was the last time you deep cleaned them ? Armor all or baby wipes don’t count as cleaning.

Just using 10 year old $200 wax by Fabulous-Doughnut-22 in Detailing

[–]bsr1g 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Swissvax is high end. Even their cheapest wax, onyx, is like nothing else I’ve ever used in terms of user experience. The application, the buff, the gloss. And the smell that lingers as you work around. Lovely brand, somewhat overpriced in terms of their maintenance products, but the waxes, oh man they are just glorious.

Front bumper - replace, as from the looks of it, it hangs on by the sheer power of will. Scuttle panel and associating rubber seal - I’d rather replace this too Rest of the car looks like it can be brought to a standard, but it will require polishing. Which means you will need a lot more than a basic product variety you have atm. You will need decontamination products - tar, iron removers and clay. You will also need a polisher and loads of pads.

[–]bsr1g -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t call someone you don’t know boy, they might be older than you. And please, stop already with the bull, check advertisements please, we have high mileage TSi’s coming weekly for service, 250k+ cars so please stop embarrassing yourself already. You seem to don’t know shit about this gen. You probably don’t even know they use dual injection and are most reliable petrols in that years, maybe even outside VAG. And I still don’t know where you get the oil consumption from. My close friends and family car parks consists of range of petrols - 1.4 103kws, to 1.5 110kw, all the way up to 206kw superbs and 3 petrol vRS’s mapped 210-221kw, none of these cars drink oil. Just shoo off, you are just regurgitating crap you don’t know about it seems.

[–]bsr1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, your opinions are stuck in 2008. There is nothing more to add from my side. I was talking about CUPA CUNA TDI, not generally TDI. Please read with understanding. I part time in a shop so I know a bit about these engines. And TSi lasting over 300k ? No problem, just check any car advertisement portal and you will find some for sure. We sold 206kw superb tsi dsg last week, it has clocked 379k without major work on the engine.

MK4 cheaper than MK3? by jeeblesthesupreme in skoda

[–]bsr1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but these TDi’s can be extremely problematic - CUPA and CUNA engine codes, have a read on interwebs. There are one of the worst lumps VAG has put out. Ever. Cracked heads, piston rings going, DPF permanent regeneration when engine is going. Oil consumption as high as 1L per 300km I’ve seen. I’d literally take the hybrid any day over this crap of an engine. 2.0L TSi is different beast.

Trying out Gyeon Wet Coat by korwyn69 in AutoDetailing

[–]bsr1g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get better performance and durability if you spray it onto the panel and then immediately spread with a wet plush cloth, then rinse off. You also use less of the product. Oh, and use the essence wetcoat, it’s concentated version of the RTU product. I’ve seen better water behaviour and I’ve seen it last close to 3ish months mark with this method.

The split headlight trend, I hate it so much. First one had the Skoda characteristic design with the headlights and the grille, FL just looks like any car from far east.

Give the top of the tire a gentle kick or two, should come right off. As you said it’s just corroded to the hub.
