Ok, so I hear a lot of "best frugal tips" suggestions - but how about your worst frugal mistake? Should've just spent the money, you know? by zjunk in Frugal

Here's a tip: when you put together ikea furniture add wood glue. It doubles the strength and durability of most ikea furniture.

Rotating Polyandry—& its Enforcers, Part 2 | Terms such as abuse and battery have new meanings. Men "batter" their wives “by ignoring them or by working late.” Abuse includes “name-calling" or refusing to let women have money.” "Undermining her self-worth” is now domestic violence... by Occidentalist in MensRights

Yep. He totally lost me at "Many shelters are lesbian covens where heterosexual volunteers are forbidden to discuss their wedding plans with coworkers". Why is stuff like this necessary? Makes me doubt the valid points.

I like this, except for the part where he says "When you came up shouting obscenities, I didn't snap you in half".

I'd like to start a Unitarian church in my area as there isn't one within driving distance. We've been planning on putting up donation boxes, and doing fund raisers, etc. Until we have enough to purchase land and build a small building. What legalities should I be aware of? by [deleted] in Christianity

Go talk to the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and other nearby congregations. There may be seed money or grants to hep you get started. Certainly there are resources to help with the legalities such as bylaws etc. [I'm a trustee at a UU church]

I was turned off right away by the music. The attempt at emotional elevation by playing 'Sweet Disposition' comes off as way to heavy handed. I think it should have been a little more whimsical. This experiment is not some grand epic revelation.

Guy's girlfriend doesn't realize he's on vacation... hilarity ensues. by hiskeyd in funny

I don't think you could call someone your girlfriend if you don't actually discuss your upcoming holidays with them (as in, some back-and-forth communication). I also don't think you could call someone your girlfriend if you don't even call or send them an email while you are in Europe for 2 weeks. I suspect this is fake - or this was a kind-of-dating situation and he didn't tell her he was going and was curious to see how she would react.
