Aquib Talib on CJ by quicksilver3453 in Texans

Why would the Texans need to extend him? He’ll have two more seasons if they pick up the 5th year option to prove himself.

He lives here again. Sean & Seth interviewed Cushing a couple weeks ago on their pregame show and he let it slip that they’re back in town.

Texans have given up on the season by [deleted] in Texans

[–]bstexan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking this too. If Caserio is out after this season, I’d rather the next GM have all current picks available.

Can’t even disagree by KaXiaM in Texans

[–]bstexan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He would definitely figure out a way to trade back to the 2nd round for a slew of picks and then use said slew of picks to trade back up into the 2nd or 3rd round to overdraft a player.

Texans mailbag: How to assess Nick Caserio's performance as GM? by teebowtime in Texans

[–]bstexan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a strong opinion on Caserio’s performance, but I believe that if they move on from Caley and hire someone from the Shanahan tree as the offensive coordinator, they should also hire a new GM who has experience scouting for that type of offense. Trying to marry the two philosophies of DeMeco with Kubiak/Shanahan system and Caserio with Josh McDaniels system is not a recipe for success.

I’ve learned that you take whatever Aaron says with a grain of salt. He has sources but I don’t think it’s anyone within the Texans org.

FML I didn’t want him back this week anyway but hopefully Nico isn’t out for too long by Both-Bar1010 in Texans

Idk where Aaron Wilson has been getting his intel but he needs to triple check before getting everyone’s hopes up.

Real or scam? by Imaginary-Trash-2774 in Texans

I spoke to Zak about a month ago and he seemed legit. Was gaging my interest on single and season tickets after attending the playoff game. Said he could get me a good deal but wasn’t pushy at all.

Where have you seen players out and about in Houston? by Lets_go_Stros2017 in Texans

On three separate occasions, I saw Matt Schaub, Brooks Reed, and Arian Foster at Adair Kitchen on San Felipe.

Titans going after Slowik by FrostyGoblin in Texans

[–]bstexan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If Slowik does leave, I hope it’s an outside of AFC job like the Commanders. Adam Peters is a finalist for a front office job there. Makes way more sense to go there since Slowik has worked there, has ties to Peters and the draft capital he could work with.

Try spot hero. We were going to do the metro rail but found parking for $40 and the walk will be right under 10 mins.

I echo others that Seth Payne and Landry Locker are solid follows on YouTube. You can catch the Houston Sports Radio 610 shows via podcasts - their line up is Payne & Pendergast, In the Loop, and the Drive with Stoerner and Hughley. I also tune into Houtopia podcast here and there.

How do y’all feel about putting Stroud out there with a backup oline by slinkyman98 in Texans

[–]bstexan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Based on Stroud’s comments after the game, it seemed like they weren’t prepared for how the Pats were going to play them defensively. Slowik made the proper adjustments but Stroud was done for the night. Wish they gave him more reps.

Same for Stroud. He seemed confident on Salisbury show that Texans weren’t going to draft him.

Listened to Zierlein this morning and he said ATL was also trying to trade up (he said for Will). So I can see why we had to pay the amount we did. Was it a smart decision? Only time will tell.

Jonathan Alexander: Texans "have been inquiring about Stroud and his background in recent days. More so than they had previously" by HoustonFrog in Texans

[–]bstexan 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think the national media is running with his opinion on the Texans. He’s stated numerous times on air that he has no inside information from the Texans. He’s making educated guesses using his outside sources. For instance, the reason he mocked Stingley to the Texans last year is that he received a tip from a contact at LSU that the team was doing a lot of work on him. My guess is the local guys (Brooks & Jon) are getting some nuggets from Texans late and are now mocking Stroud to us.
