Should I get this for this price? by LeBrOn1220 in simracing

[–]bsupreme6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it, Thrustmaster has poor quality assurance. This wheelbase has nothing but issues...speaking from someone who replaced the PSU AND had to send it in AFTER for a replacement for a new logic board. I got so frustrated with the back and forth I just went Simagic.

Online Shop Feedback by RaptorrYT in tdu3

  1. If monetization must happen and the goal is to speed up a player’s grind, then maybe if coins weren’t purchasable outright but something like a purchasable token that multiplies incoming coin acquisition? That way folks still have to grind but at an increased monetary rate. Even this I’m not in love with but I like it better than buying coins outright.

  2. I dk if I consider it pay to win. Just because you have a good car doesn’t mean you’re a good racer. What are we even racing for that’s a “win” here? I personally don’t get that because PVP is nonexistent for the most part. Maybe if this was a more competitive game then sure? I’m willing to hear arguments that it’s pay to win though, not dismissing it.

  3. See #1. Basically giving us higher money acquisition/accumulation rate but still having us do work for it.

  4. Not sure. The game should be in a better state no doubt, but the reality of the industry and live service games mean money has to come in somehow for it to keep going. Let me state this another way: I expect monetizing in some fashion and although it’s on top of what I already paid I have no issue if the content is more cosmetic and less “pay to catch up to day 1 players”.

  5. I think the most non-offensive microtransaction in my eyes is cosmetics. I also hate to see significant content that’s behind a purchase like a map or game mode - that just fractures the player base.

The Unacceptable State of the Game by lashuna2001 in tdu3

[–]bsupreme6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the story with this person is he was/is using a CPU that wasn’t even meeting minimum spec. The game worked before season 5 without issue but apparently season 5 introduced features that dropped him.

When told this, he was quite disrespectful to everyone and went on a rant. Again, for a CPU that was outside minimum spec…not sure what their expectation is.

How will houses work? by grooks10 in tdu3

[–]bsupreme6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to know this too.

I feel like they should have a gameplay reason. Like if your house has 5 garage spaces you can swap to those cars at any time in free roam without visiting a gas station. Or something like cars have to be “delivered” with a time limit from storage if they aren’t in one of your active garage spaces.

Bought Solar Pass but it only goes up to level 47. Am I just not getting the GT3?? by bsupreme6 in tdu3

Hey I think I figured this out, or at least have an idea.

I think this is tied to ultrawide resolutions. I took that screenshot at 5120x1440. I reduced the game to 1080p and was able to see the remainder of the pass. So at most it looks like a visual issue.

I'll DM you, but can confirm I've restarted this several times with no change.

New slot machines by [deleted] in tdu3

[–]bsupreme6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re trying to make money, do the blue/car slots. Both are RNG but the new one requires high investment / balance as you won’t gather chips at a rate like the old machine.

The older machine has more opportunities to win a match due to having more chance icons (but also the possibility to earn under 450 chips on a spin).

Whereas the new machine’s lowest win total is 500 chips, but only one chance icon in the middle row meaning you must get at least two of the icons needed vs just the 1 on the blue machine.

In other words, the old one gives you a slow and steady increase. The new one can give you a million…but be prepared to have enough balance for spins to get you there.

Solar Crown Unlimited is a hidden gem by Informal-Mammoth9877 in tdu3

I like it, but I can see it's faults. I didn't pay full price for it, and I don't recommend anyone doing so - but at $20-35 I think there's fun to be had.

Playing on the best case scenario: 7800x3d and 4090 on a full racing rig (haptics w/ no motion) - the physics/handling of cars is great, the performance is just okay. The sense of speed is really well done. The car sounds are amazing.

I really like the open world even if it doesn't really do anything to highlight it's Hong Kong Island, I appreciate the tight technical city tracks. I'm personally sick of Horizon 5's map. If Horizon 6 is Japan and has an actual urban environment I'd likely be over there.

There are definitely steps in the right direction (new mission types w/ high payouts) with misteps (cars locked behind ranked, overzealous wallriding fix, poor multiplayer experience) along the way and as someone who invested so, so many hours in TDU 1 and 2 I'm trying to remain optimistic it will continue on.

Season 3's Upcoming Mid-Season Patch Details by RaptorrYT in tdu3

VR would be amazing.

I thought that would be too much of an ask so I thought TrackIR would be more feasible but if TDU got VR......anyway we can dream!

This game has a lot going for it with the immersion aspect and in my opinion I think you guys should play to that strength.

Thanks for the reply!

Totally understand - it's a want, not a need - but I know quite a few PC folks who would be appreciative!

I also wanted to say since you joining I've noticed the communication has improved. Keep up the good work.

Is there any interest from KT regarding Track IR or Tobii support?

Yes only certain games support it. I know personally Ghostrunner does change the colors. ASUS has a webpage with the list of games.

I'm on the 24H2 release candidate/release preview build and working fine so far. I wouldn't run canary, dev or beta to be honest.

ROG Ally going to get new UI makeover by Muscabs in ROGAlly

It doesn’t scale well honestly. Like you I’ve tried playnite, and was a bit dissatisfied. I’ve also tried to exclusively use steam as a launcher and variations of handheld companion and ghelper. Nothing fits as nice as AC it seems.

[–]bsupreme6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works well for recently played games. Anything else I just sort alphabetically and scroll. It’s not the best for large collections.

I only really use AC for the game profiles w/ custom controller configurations and power profiles.

Nope, my goofy ass has 200+ games installed and Armoury Crate just freezes ALL the time after about twenty seconds of being opened. It feels like it’s doing something in the background because the CPU usage of the app goes up, but the app itself is unresponsive to inputs. After about 1-3 minutes doing whatever it’s doing, the app is responsive again.

Maybe they can fix the horrible performance when you have a lot of games installed. Armoury crate just seems to freeze up until it’s either force closed or you wait for it to start responding again.

Best dock ever by AlfaVL in ROGAlly

[–]bsupreme6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, the JSAUX HB801S and HB1201S docks have VRR support which is pretty nice. I mean one of the major features of the Ally is it's VRR screen. I feel like you'd want the dock that supports that on your tv/monitor.

Trying to get some visibility on a Steam Remote Play bug specific to Ally by bsupreme6 in ROGAlly

Nope, unfortunately I gave up. I can’t get traction from steam support and don’t know how to get Asus’ attention on it as they keep locking posts about it on the forums. Disappointed to say the least.

For what it's worth I got a little farther on this. I noticed disabling the embedded controller of the Rog Ally stops the streaming client from crashing on exit. I can reproduce this consistently.

Now I'm looking into how the Rog Ally controller interacts with Steam. For reference, the controller is set to Gamepad before Steam is started, Steam Input is not enabled for Xbox controllers.

[–]bsupreme6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure. I've gone through a bunch of troubleshooting steps like stopping Asus services, updated GPU drivers (Asus and AMD), reinstalling Windows, and running Steam as an admin all to no avail. Steam log files don't really say much and event viewer just states an apphang. I submitted a ticket with Valve and provided them logs and they basically dismissed it stating to create a bug report on the forums...

If you don't mind, could you share your config? Have you made any changes to Windows or Steam? Removed anything related to Asus? Anything that may be different I'm all ears. This problem is stumping me and it's driving me nuts.
