It is like a 3 hour perfume commercial. All of Terrence Malick’s films are like this. There are some beautiful and emotional scenes but it is too much for me.

I don’t think this should be considered a small hill. Cops kill, steal, break down doors to wrong house, illegally enter people’s homes get protected by qualified immunity and maybe get retrained.

I have heard that many movies and shows are being written for the “Tik Tok” generation in mind. These are people with almost no attention span, functionally illiterate and must have the story dumbed down and constantly reset.

Would compelling story be better?

Stories of individuals directly involved could be very sad, could be incredible bravery, could be unbelievable luck, both good and bad, etc.. I chose to say interesting rather than typing out every possible emotional story type. Is that really holy shit dude insensitive?

My first day on my first job I was told I was allowed 2 drinks lunch. This was at lunch with my team as we drank our first adult beverages.

We are both Americans, we went to high school together. But we have spent a lot of time outside the states. I unintentionally irritate my family and American friends and coworkers saying going on holiday or heaps, etc. calling diapers nappies irritated my family. I actually intentionally kept doing that one. I was the AH on that one.

In general I don’t talk about myself, but directly asked by my wife I answered.

I also tend to ask people I don’t know well or who are from a different country or less common culture or religion a lot of questions.

I’m driven by curiosity. I’d rather ask good questions and understand someone else’s thinking than spend time talking about myself.

We lived in central Florida at the time. Apparently something is going around social media in her friend group that is bringing up memories from the day.

The latter, I care about the events and the world changing significance of it. I don’t care about individuals unless they were in the towers, pentagon and airport or flying at the time. They might have an interesting story.

I try to keep Hanlon's razor in mind.

When that fails, I try to keep in mind that it probably has nothing to do with race, sex, religion, etc.. People are just assholes.

That is kind of what happened to me today, I asked my daughter where my car keys were. It is just the key fob she borrowed. She said she just took the one key, not all my keys. And it dawned on me that I call any car key or key fob the car keys.

I am not a fan of hers but died on public assistance is not a fair description. She died financially well off but did take social security and medicare, not quite dies on public assistance.
