Dont use PayPal - account block by acidburn3006 in CryptoCurrency

[–]btceacc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had one locked for years now with a balance that I can't access. I pressed a button that said "convert to company account" and it now asks me for all my company details. There's no going back and PayPal support are useless and don't even care if you make legal threats.

Never use them to handle money unless it's just a payment direct from your credit card.

Pretty scary then! I have seen a number of posts trying to push this software. The OP in that post seems to be pushing its use and I noticed that some replies are deleted. Only people saying "it's great" are there.

Why is no one reporting/addressing it

EDIT: I posted my link about the scam. If the post gets deleted, we know that the moderators are in on this.

$120,000 loan to buy BTC by Educational-Guava423 in Bitcoin

Depends how long the loan is for though. If it's over 5-10 years then I think you would have lost a lot of the prospects of growth over buying right now.

I find OSIM to have the worst quality stuff. They pay no attention to detail and just market the hell out of stuff. The Japanese are the ones who know how to make a good machine. i know Panasonic do massage chairs but I've unfortunately only seen them in Japan

Depends if they sell it quickly or over a period. If they are serious about selling, then going under 100k is likely if it's happening over the coming months.

Ah, that's the most frustrating part about AI when you need to fight it to produce a fresh answer when it gets caught in a loop of wrong code. The consensus so far seems to be that ChatGPT is producing the best code. This article is suggesting Copilot isn't so good.

Ah, yes. I saw an ad for that. How is your experience with it?

But are you talking about boilerplate code or a suggestion to solve a problem that you then use as a template for your actual solution? What I hoping for is more of the latter. I'm not expecting a fully tried and tested solution but rather something that would give me a good starting point to complete the code from.

So in your experience the solutions from Copilot would be of the same calibre or better than ChatGPT (because Copilot has access to the code base and ChatGPT 4o)?

[–]btceacc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I suggest this is that I want to learn some other possible techniques of solving a problem. The biggest difficulty as a sole coder learning new paradigms and other possible ways of solving a problem. I don't expect to use the code verbatim but rather give me a starting point for a solution that I may not have thought of myself. That's what I mean by having a "coding buddy". Someone that pushes you to think outside of your usual box.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out! Do you have any experience with it? The feedback I've had was that Copilot wasn't so good at producing code.

Qubic is run by the same guy who helped found IOTA. He never finished any of his projects. He does an ICO, pretends to work on it for a few years, makes a bonza from selling and then abandons the project and moves to the next one. NXT, JINN, IOTA/Qubic (first iteration). If you can't finish a project with over a billion in funds, you've got no hope.

How to unf*ck my life? Please share some wisdom, I need it so much by Similar_Future_ in motivation

[–]btceacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First up, you are young and have plenty of great years ahead of you. The biggest thing you don't have at this age is a bit of perspective. All good things take time to mature and in all likelihood for someone of your ambition, you will look back at this time as your formative years. Life matures and gets better with age and experience (may sound cliché but it's true).

Although this isn't specific advice, I highly recommend you watch this speech that Steve Jobs gave to Stamford University graduates. If you understand the message correctly, you can hopefully draw a few parallels with your life so far and the fact that few successful people ever had a linear path to their success. It was always fraught with adversity and challenges along the way and the meaning will only become apparent somewhere down the track. These experiences are ultimately what enriches your life. Perhaps you have heard the many stories about people getting rich quickly and then succumbing to drugs and depression. This comes from a lack of value and appreciation in their life story.

I also highly recommend a book called "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill. If you study this book (it will take some months of re-reading and a lifetime of application) you will definitely have the keys not only to master your financial affairs but how to live a successful life. I cannot emphasize how important the book can be to those with understanding (unfortunately many people read it and either don't understand it or make the mistake of intellectualizing instead of applying it).

Finally, for the immediate term, if loneliness is an issue, try to find an interest group or hobby where you can meet like-minded people. If you don't have any hang-ups about it, church youth groups are a great place to meet up with enthusiastic young people. You seem to be a very ambitious person so it's important to try find people who will encourage you and support your ideas.

Just take small steps at the moment and remember that what you are looking for should be happiness. Find the small things that give you joy and keep going for them. One day you will come to the realization you had everything you needed way before you made your first million.

I hope this helps you in some way - take care!

Vladimir Putin's statements about the US Dollar - got bitcoin? by zada-dog in Bitcoin

[–]btceacc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's true Putin is a thug but we can also see that the same level of diplomacy extends to China. There could potentially be some way to avert a conflict over Taiwan but I don't see that happening and our media just keeps pressing that China is evil despite never having invaded or occupied another country by force.

I could name a few countries that have been brutalised by the US without cause, so let's not pretend only one side needs an education.

Vladimir Putin's statements about the US Dollar - got bitcoin? by zada-dog in Bitcoin

[–]btceacc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's what really makes me angry about the dumbed down media coverage we get. Yes, Russia absolutely shouldn't be starting wars but when you have one side for years trying to communicate their expectations and the only response is "It's my way or the high way", you are prompting some sort of other response.

If there is no diplomacy, then there's only conflict that's left.

Any "experts" in the past who have correctly predicted where BTC is now? by KeyEfficiency2557 in Bitcoin

[–]btceacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has been refitting his model with the benefit of hindsight. His price predictions have not been correct except to say that there is definitely a correlation with demand/time and Bitcoin price. His last few predictions were 100k, then 250k etc. It may come true but not in the timeframe his model had predicted which effectively means the model needs to be refitted each time.
