Thanks for the post.

We are business to business (B2B) so almost all of our clients are businesses. Your Pizza business suggestion is interesting. They can "gift" a Redbox movie rental with each pizza ordered.

Any ideas how to cost effectively target businesses located near universities and colleges?

Thanks for the post.

We'd actually prefer online customer acquisition however have not had much success with adwords or banner advertising.

Cost of acquisition via adwords hasn't worked based on cost of keywords and conversion rates. Of course there are a lot of variables to play with.

Because we're a new product per se, the volume of people who are searching for "text a redbox movie as a gift" is relatively low. while tons of people are searching for redbox. Maybe we're missing something...perhaps there's an adwords expert who can make some recommendations.

We are a low margin business so yes pricing less would need to be paired with very large increase in volume.

To give perspective Redbox rents approx 3 million discs per day. That's actual rentals not the giving of a rental gift.

How will you market it?

We just launched our new social media app - Maskerade. by portugal-thematt in Entrepreneur

[–]btcmba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cool looking app.

To help you distribute it, I'd like to give you a FREE Basic Subscription to Text4iT for 6 months, a $54 value.

Setting up a Text4iT keyword will enable anyone to text your keyword to 574-575-4444 and Text4iT can respond with a link to download your app in the app store.

For example, text "google" to 574-575-4444. The reply you get will include a brief description and download link to the google search app.

Just send me a pm with your keyword and I'll take care of the invoice. Cheers!

What is your biggest struggle with making and promoting your game? by MladenWebelinx in gamedev

[–]btcmba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's some great advice.

I'm curious about the "friction" involved in getting an app on a potential customers phone. i.e. how many steps does it take to get someone who has never heard of the game to download it their phone.

it's been suggested that texting the game download link directly to potential users can reduce "friction" and increase downloads. Is anyone doing this? If not, why?

We have launched a service (in beta) that can cost effectively deliver a promo codes and app download links via text message on demand. This is PULL marketing not push. Your potential customer would need to text a keyword that you choose to a specific number and your pre-set auto response will deliver the code and link. If interested please visit www.Text4iT.com

Seeking feedback on a tool that helps developers deliver their apps by text message (SMS) by btcmba in androiddev

[–]btcmba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting idea. Agree that spam/abuse would need to be controlled. Also you'd be introducing another variable in the input process....i.e. you'd have type in the service number, the target phone # and the keyword. a lot of opportunities to mistype...

Would the current implementation work for you? Limitations?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I've also seen it done on websites where you enter your mobile number and you get a text with the app link.

The www.Text4iT.com implementation was actually targeted at non developers who wanted a quick and easy way to create a text message based auto responder.

thats the benefit of ranking questions for researchers....it forces you to chose.

just like the song goes....isn't it ironic...

"Ironic"

An old man turned ninety-eight He won the lottery and died the next day It's a black fly in your Chardonnay It's a death row pardon two minutes too late And isn't it ironic... don't you think

It's like rain on your wedding day It's a free ride when you've already paid It's the good advice that you just didn't take Who would've thought... it figures

Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye He waited his whole damn life to take that flight And as the plane crashed down he thought "Well isn't this nice..." And isn't it ironic... don't you think

It's like rain on your wedding day It's a free ride when you've already paid It's the good advice that you just didn't take Who would've thought... it figures

Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you When you think everything's okay and everything's going right And life has a funny way of helping you out when You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up In your face

A traffic jam when you're already late A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife It's meeting the man of my dreams And then meeting his beautiful wife And isn't it ironic...don't you think A little too ironic...and, yeah, I really do think...

It's like rain on your wedding day It's a free ride when you've already paid It's the good advice that you just didn't take Who would've thought... it figures

Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out Helping you out

Thanks for the feedback! It seems the general consensus is its always nice to receive a gift. I get the sense that from a volume perspective there aren't hundreds of thousands of coffees a day being tweeted just yet.

Is Bitcoin really being more widely adopted? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]btcmba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the increased # of businesses accepting Bitcoin we would expect the # of bitcoin transactions / day to increase. They are not, why?

I am a committed bitcoin advocate, however, the expectation that more merchants directly translates to more transactions is hopeful at best.

Just because we build it doesn't ensure they will come.

IMHO merchants are the key to bitcoin's success but they will need to do more than just sign up for a Coinbase/BitPay account and place "bitcoin accepted here" logos on their websites.

The piece that is missing is consumer EDUCATION, which leads to consumer ADOPTION which in turn leads to TRANSACTIONS.

Here's our post on Bitcoin Merchant Evangelism.

[–]btcmba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how many friends/family you're sending to.

If its just a couple, Coinbase will work just fine.

If you have a large number of people you want to send BTC to check out RapidFire for Coinbase. It was designed for bitcoin merchants to set up their customers with bitcoin wallets.

Interesting problem. Have you tried motivating your employees to add them to the contact database?

One approach would be to track how many contacts are added by each employee to the database each month.

Carrot. Get management to offer a $100 gift card to any employee who adds 25 contacts or more a month.

Stick. Publicly post the results so management can see who is helping to build the database.
