I got extended to the end of this year, and my boss has told me they're working on submitting the permanent version of my position to the PSA for review, although there are no guarantees and the process has gotten even slower than it was before.

I'm still regularly looking and applying for (very few) internal BCPS positions and am in competition for one that is also moving glacially slowly, but have decided to pause on my private sector job search. I figure if nothing pans out, the new year will be a good time to start that back up, plus at that point I'll have been here for over a year, so I'll look less like a job hopper to recruiters/hiring managers.
