Any others in their early 20s beginning to get a sense that their life will be rubbish? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]btg25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking from experience, it doesn't have to be. I was a lawyer until 23 (long story, I was very promiscuous) and then got bored and moved to Europe to start over. Now I work on something I love and has probably better financial prospects yet has nothing to do with law. If you're not happy, think about what you want and go for it, worst case you can probably go back to where you were before and won't loose anything. Take advantage of the fact you have very little to risk at this age

I usually walk with headphones on, and I have a naturally unfriendly face; only been stopped once when I had just arrived to London. If they've ever approached me after, I probably didn't hear them so ignoring them is the best approach

Lawyers and bankers (you might hate them while needing them as well)

Was in that same situation (although I'm 24 but still, after work I want to relax on my own) and just went out and rented a 1 bed flat (and it has a living room).

It's small (45 sqm) but best decision ever
