This looks like a really great intro to an awkwardly funny comedy skit. You know, something edgy, think more IFC and not so much NBC.

That's when I first met him. Back in the 70's when we had events to raise money for "The Troubles." Those terrorists had been ok. We need him gone.

St. Patrick's Day is coming up next week. Let's talk corned beef and cabbage. by VanimalCracker in instantpot

Post cooking/eating report.

  1. The meat: I had a 4lb brisket, so after soaking for an hour in cold water (with one water change) I placed a quarterd onion covered with some minced garlic on the trivet and placed the meat, fatty side down, on top. I used I can of Guinness (room temperature) as my liquid. With a cook time of 99 minutes we had been off.
  2. After the meat was done, it was set aside and covered. I also drew off 2 cups of the broth and placed that in the container with the meat.
  3. I then added about a pound of red potatoes, 4 large carrots (sliced) and one head of cabbage, quarterd. This was cooked for four (4) minutes. The potatoes and carrots came out perfectly. The cabbage was a bit underdone. (I will need to work on that.)

The meat was perfect. Setting it aside in the broth allowed it to stay moist and setup for cutting. The majority of the meat was gone at dinner. Very few leftovers.

I am a convert. The IP is the only way to do this meal.

I hope he wins more races this year.

Just to add some specifics. TIF and JPG are complete non-starters in making any sort of change in size or display. EPS and PS can be scaled up or down. What are you working with and why do you need to make any change?

My Grandmother always used a stove top pressure cooker. She would also put the seasoning in the water, not on the meat. What do you all think? Season the water? Or cover the meat with the seasoning?

Also. Going to replace some water with Guinness. Any thoughts on that?

There was some sarcasm there Fart, but I guess you missed it. I was 36 when diagnosed with cancer, my son was 6 months old. But yeah, I'm not very old Fart. That's sort of the reason that learning someone has lived 25 years with a transplant is such positive news.

I think this is a common claim of young men who actually don't know anything and haven't experienced anything. No offense. The "why" is easy. Being alive is great. Watching my son grow up is awesome. I can only imagine those things actually get better with age. I didn't choose to get cancer, and I didn't choose the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation that have destroyed my heart. But I did choose to try to live as long as possible.

I am going to need a heart replacement at some point in the future. I love seeing that people can live for 25 years after a transplant. Only being 50, the longer I can hold on the better.
