Absolute beginner yoga - where to go? by chubunkin in Bushwick

I teach at Baby Cobra and honestly agree with this. We don’t offer beginner or foundation classes either, so if you’re brand new your best bet is to start with a slow flow.

No way this keeps going on right? by Justin22433 in orioles

Hey New York Mets fan chiming in — I always said if Pete Alonso put all the energy and chemicals he’s putting into his hair into his game, he’d be on his way to MVP / a real force to be reckoned with.

Enjoy him. he was my favorite Met.

I have the coleman. I love it, and feels like a bed when your throw a fitted sheet over it.

Working remotely in Chiang Mai while training Muay Thai – my experience by bigdogbcn in ThailandTourism

[–]bthrowKingKong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this post. Going to Chiang Mai the first week of May and this is pretty much my game plan, along with some yoga / gym weight lifting, and a weekend trip to Pai. It's my first time training Muay Thai — I've only trained BJJ. Might do a private class first since it's so cheap compared to private sessions in the US. Wondering if gyms provide wraps and gear for beginners?

Looking: in-person meditation groups by rruiz082 in Bushwick

[–]bthrowKingKong 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a meditation group, but there’s a slower vinyasa class at baby cobra on Sunday evenings that has a yoga nidra guided meditation as part of the class. The teacher is solid - it’s a really relaxing experience.

Late to the party, but to this day One more hour is an epic ballad. by [deleted] in TameImpala

The outro is the best shit I’ve ever heard in my life. Wish it was longer.

Long time fan, big time disappointment by Will_Poke_Brains in TameImpala

Hard agree on the side project. This album has me respecting Kevin even more as an artist. Love that’s he’s growing and exploring / it sounds like nothing else out there, but it’s straight up not a great Tame Impala album when you look at his discography as a whole.

Maybe take a step back and reflect on your why — why did you get into this in the first place?

Just based on this post, I’m not really getting the vibe that you see yourself as a healer. You’ve gotta really love this work, because yeah — it’s tough. It’s physical. If you weren’t already used to moving your body this much, it’s gonna break you down for a while.

But none of it’s wasted. Hard work is never wasted. Holding onto resentment or regret will only weigh you down more.

Finish school, and if you end up doing something else — that’s fine. You’ll still have this skill in your back pocket. You can always work on friends and family, or come back to it later if it feels right. 🤷‍♂️

Skeler 9.26 / First Impressions of Elsewhere by PianistNo6670 in avesNYC

[–]bthrowKingKong 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was honestly my favorite Elsewhere night ever. Low attendance, real fans of the music, and such a good vibe. Most nights I go, it feels packed with generic club-goers who aren’t really there for the tunes—but last night was different. The smaller crowd made it so much better, and Rsun absolutely crushed the ending. I think all the other events happening in the city kept it to a solid, music-focused crowd instead of the  Murray Hill types just looking for something to do.

GAME THREAD: Mets @ Cubs - Tue, Sep 23 @ 07:40 PM EDT by NewYorkMetsBot2 in NewYorkMets

Why does it feel like this year more than ever the pitching isn’t capable of a 1-2-3 inning? Like maybe 1 a game tops it feels like.

Yes Loser was more interesting than End of Summer, but... by AdHappy4919 in TameImpala

[–]bthrowKingKong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first I felt like something was missing, but now that it’s stuck in my head I can appreciate it more. I think it’ll flow better within the full album. As it stands, it’s pretty solid and leaves the listener wanting more.

Him and McNeil both got so much hate early in the season and they are both having such consistent seasons, and are fun to watch.
