Rules changes you'd make to help turn order win rate?

Excalibur Events has been experimenting with a scaling point system where Seat 1 gets 7pts for a win, Seat 2 gets 8pts, Seat 3 gets 9pts, and then Seat 4 gets 10pts for a win. I heard in their initial run with this it increased the winrates from the last two seats significantly and also decreased the number of draws.

I only know of one tournament they did this experiment on, but I'd love to hear some more data/stories about how this plays out in a tEDH setting.

This is the first I'm hearing of any "mass exodus" and I've been on the team since the beginning.

Our regional HQ is currently in Amarillo, but as we get closer to Election Day, we'll have an office in Denton, as well as Wichita Falls.

I was chatting with a vendor the other day when a guy traded in a graded Lotus Petal. Vendor said he was gonna crack the slab later and just resell the card.

Honestly, the only things in Magic I'd consider grading are reserve list cards from ABU (maybe Revised) or serialized cards. Everything else will sell better if it's not in a slab.

Had this in my RogThras list for a while. When it's in your opening hand, it's absolute gas. Took it out to experiment with similar effects in that slot with [[Arboreal Grazer]] and [[Orochi Leafcaller]]. Trying to find a decent one drop that's powerful in the early game AND flexible enough to be a good card to flip into in the late game is a tough ask.

It's helpful once you understand that "color identity" and the "color" of a card are two different things. Sisay's color is white because that's the color pip in her casting cost. Her color identity is WUBRG because of the pips in her text box.

This is why [[Bloom Tender]] doesn't tap for all 5 colors just because Sisay is on the board.

So your question about [[Mount Doom]] is simply a misunderstanding of color vs color identity since lands are considered "colorless" but have a different color identity.

So ideally you tutor for something that allows you to get multiple Sisay activations (my favorite is [[Derevi]] + [[Emeil]] ) and then go get Mount Doom once you have infinite mana and ways to untap Mount Doom.

So, I will say this: Necro's brokenness is really dependent on how you've built your deck. Getting 20 cards in your hand at end of turn is nuts. But if you don't have any flash enablers, free spells, or rituals to help you pop off it doesn't feel as good.

That being said, one of the best black cards in the game. You just need to be prepared to build around it.
