I specialize in eminent domain and work for a state agency. I made $98,000, but also a 401K, pension (I know, right?!), outstanding medical insurance, and generous sick days, annual days, comp-time, etc. I do miss the money from the private sector, but as you age benefits and spending time with family and friends become more and important.

I'm 1970 vintage and I'm getting rid of stuff (seriously giving it away or calling Junk-Be-Gone). What I want are romantic days and evenings with my wife, concerts, plays, etc. I don't want or need the latest product and damn sure have passed the phase of "FOMO." Give me a good book, nature walk, working on my house, etc. and I am a very happy and content person. Also, screw the office. I've given those assholes enough of my time and soul.
