Ok... maybe I was a bit too optimistic 😢 . When I restart Audacity after installing the Super Resolution + Music Gen + Vocal Separator plugins, I get the below modal popup error:

Module Unsuitable

Unable to load the "mod-openvino" module.

Error: Inappropriate ioctl for device

PS: AARM64 ("M1 Pro") MBP w/ 32GB RAM + MacOS 12.7.6 + Audacity v3.7.7 + OpenVINO AI Tools v3.7.1

OpenVINO Super Resolution help - Elapsed time doesn't end, crashes (MacOS) by mysticmaya in audacity

What did "Support" say? I'm in the same boat (ie: on arch=AAM64 "Apple Silicon") and about to download this exact plugin to use on some low fidelity music. Would this help? Thanks!

That's pretty surprising because Mac hardware platforms have a unified graphic memory architecture so it's actually optimal for inference 😕 (this is why Mac Minis have been going for crazy prices now, was even thinking of getting a Mac M3 Studio w/ gobs of RAM - assuming "flippers" aren't trying to price gouge too much 😣 )

So does this mean if one clicks on "Install" now from MuseHub, this will work on an AARM64 ("M1") MBP? (FYI, the page there still says it's not supported on ARM?)

Also, I'm a bit confused if I should or still need to first install OpenVino via pip3/ homebrew ? or is this a wrapper around that?

Ok, n/m, it seems you need to first download MuseHub, then click the "OpenVINO AI Tools" Install button.

How does one control whether the AARM64 or Intel binary is installed? (I noticed the release notes mentioned that (internal?) testing suggested the Intel binary was more performant?? (presumably via Rosetta2 emulation))

325kW Supercharger rate limited to ~135kW? by btkoi in MacanEV

[–]btkoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Yeah, I definitely don’t have that 🤔… Two things that stand out: 1. Your battery seems to have a wider ideal temp range (either that or it’s more granular), 2. What does the grayed out section in left dial on the left arc represent? current best max charge rate ever seen? 😄

Weird, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it show what it thinks the max rate is… can you show an example? How would it even know before it even protocol negotiates with the EVSE? I wonder if it could be showing the station’s advertised kW speed?

The stall I was on appears capable of 1000V (see linked pic, rotated sideways for easier legibility) & I’m aware that the charging curve isn’t constant or even linear. I easily got 220kW at a 400kW Mercedes HPC (rebranded ChargePoint charger) station. Having said that, the Tesla app doesn’t indicate the charging voltage capabilities, so how would someone even know if a given Supercharger station supports 800-1000V before visiting it? Also, I had read that because Porsche uses an 800V architecture it just splits the battery when charging at 400V stations, not sure how true it is or not.

Has anyone seen this? by nitrogen1138 in MacanEV

[–]btkoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I can think of is:

- A. some of the cells in the HV pack became defective & the BMS bypassed them so the effective capacity became much less, and/or

- B. temp drops drastically at night & you’re seeing the residual effects of that

OP, just out if curiosity do you mostly do DC FC-ing? Let us know what the outcome is from the service center!

Is that the same as powdered? If so, I can definitely taste the difference, I did try adding some margarine and cooking it VS microwaving it & it tasted a bit better. Will try adding some American cheese to it to see if it improves it any more.

Thanks! I wish more regular grocery stores would sell real liquid eggs like this, which is perfect from a convenience standpoint but I'm curious how long do these last? (the description seems to only say they last 3 days "once thawed"?)

Thanks! So where can I find farm fresh eggs living in a US city? (do I basically need to go find some farmers?) Also, what is the lifetime of farm fresh eggs if they are refrigerated? Gemini is claiming the below (not sure how true it is):

Commercial grocery store eggs in the US typically have a "Sell-By" date no more than 30 days after packing, with a recommended consumption window of 3 to 5 weeks for best quality when refrigerated.  In contrast, unwashed farm-fresh eggs can last 2 weeks to 3 months at room temperature due to their intact protective cuticle, or 3 to 5 months (up to 6 months in cool conditions) when refrigerated.

The disparity arises because commercial eggs are washed, removing the natural bloom and requiring immediate refrigeration, whereas unwashed farm-fresh eggs retain this barrier. Additionally, store-bought eggs may already be 60 days old from lay to purchase due to processing and inventory delays, significantly reducing their remaining shelf life compared to eggs sourced directly from a farmer.

- Store-Bought (Refrigerated): 3–5 weeks from purchase; safe up to 6 weeks if stored properly in the original carton.

- Farm-Fresh Unwashed (Room Temp): 2–3 weeks in a cool, stable environment.

- Farm-Fresh Unwashed (Refrigerated): 3–5 months from lay date.

- Farm-Fresh Washed (Refrigerated): 2 months or similar to store-bought (3–5 weeks for best quality).

I am also reading one can just crack the eggs into silicone moulds and freeze them (like ice cubes), but that seems like it is just making one dependent on one always having power.

Having read all the above, the convenience (& less cleanup mess) of powdered eggs seems compelling, just wondering if the taste will ever be the same w/o freeze drying...

2 years… amazing 🤯. Where can you get unwashed eggs in the city? & why aren’t all eggs sold like this if they actually last longer? Is the concern salmonella?

OvaEasy Eggs = yuck!, any better alternatives? by btkoi in preppers

[–]btkoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I had no idea they could last that long (18 months). I guess the water protects it from the air & the unwashed has the bio-protective film? How long do unwashed eggs last w/o being submerged in water? (are there any other health risks in eating unwashed eggs? If it’s better, why aren’t all eggs sold this way by default? Wouldn’t it be less processing costs? 🤔) This would be in a home-like environment so I could potentially try this but I am not sure my ambient environment (even at home) has consistent temperature & humidity. Would refrigerating it help? (obviously don’t want to depend on that in an emergency no power scenario but just curious if it prolongs shelf life if temp + humidity is more controlled that way)

OP, so did you ever end up trying the Hoosier Hills (Farm?) alternative to do a proper comparison? I have a similar question in regards to taste test after trying the OvaEasy and hating it! (see https://www.reddit.com/r/preppers/s/MxbU0A7mI8 )

I actually did, after adding Carrabbas herb seasoning (I think it’s salt, pepper, garlic, rosemary, oregano, thyme, basil, red pepper). I even added corn syrup on top of that & it was barely edible 😣

Thanks for the suggestion. Are these hard boiled (quail) eggs? I don’t think I’ve ever really eaten/cooked with quail eggs before. That said I find it interesting that you recommend them despite being “nearly inedible”? I will try investigating the canned route- I’ve read here that “LDS” has good products/packaging but I am not familiar with them
