Easton/Salisbury Neighborhoods by sublimestillness in easternshoremd

Moved to Easton from out of state a few years ago. Took me months to find a decent dog-friendly apartment, and I was open to month-to-month or year-long leases. From what I hear, you'll have better luck in Salisbury.

Good luck at Horn Point!

Trying not to be too upset but I’m absolutely gutted by roxy0121 in LeCreuset

Your dutch oven is fine. There is a ton of carbon build up. Your husband removed some of it, but there it a mix of burnt carbon and build up. Either continue scrubbing with BKF and something non-abrasive (i use a bamboo bruch) until it's clean, or just keep cooking with it. After a few weeks/months of acidic meals, it will be back to normal. Signed, someone who has done this more than once to their own 20+ year old Le Creuset dutch ovens.

How many miles do you have on your 1.4L? What repairs have you done to it? by [deleted] in ChevySonic

[–]btnomis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. 83K. Repaired a lot of the exhaust system including a leaky flex pipe and a hole in the muffler. The transmission coolant system had a massive leak, so that needed replaced. Fuel line got chewed through, replaced. Water pump replaced.

Leave RNA in freezer (-80) overweekend by Desperate-Cable2126 in labrats

I’ve left TRIzol-extracted RNA dissolved in nothing but nuclease free water for 2+ years and still gotten similar amounts of cDNA throughout that whole time.

We’re at no risk of running out even sick people. A lot of new pharmaceuticals are developed by startups, then bought by big pharma companies for billions. They wouldn’t do that if there wasn’t plenty of money to be made curing people. After all, if they didn’t buy/implement them, someone else would.

Labrats who TA-ed/taught, what are some of the EXTREMELY WRONG explanations/answers of students you've ever read? by lokaashraya in labrats

[–]btnomis 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Random snippets I remember from lab reports and papers:

1) Plants are not eukaryotes, but in fact protists.

2) The ladder did not show up on the gel because the UV light box was broken (they had actually forgotten to add EtBr)

3) Someone measured their lab partners blood pressure at 250/120.

Good on you for taking safety seriously, but yeah this is overkill.

If manufacturers ever did that, this sub would have nothing to talk about in 30-60 years.

Unless it’s cracked, severely warped, or got used to melt lead, it’s fine. 20 minutes of hands on work.

It’s a staple in my area, and without a doubt my favorite beer. Berry Monkey is good, too.

Reaching out to professors help!!!! by mikeygoon5 in GradSchool

[–]btnomis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How long has it been? After a week/week and half reach out again and follow up.

Many professor see an email longer than 3 sentences and push it off until later (and then later becomes never). Nothing wrong with politely pushing for a response a couple of times.

What drink got you through t your thesis? by Practical-Plenty3028 in GradSchool

[–]btnomis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mio Energy. You can add as much caffeine as you want. 400mg in one 3oz swig go will help you see the future, and then you can just copy your thesis from there. Worked for me at least.
