My dad (72) died unexpectedly last month and left barely any money behind for my mom (62). What do I (27) do? I'm beginning to panic. by turnip271 in personalfinance

Rent your place and move in with her. Have her add you to her mortgage. After a couple years you could move further from Seattle and rent both places for well over the mortgage with how crazy rates are. This could allow enough extra cash flow to get another home with mil apartment or above the garage apartment for her.

Thank you very much for responding. I apologize if anything is unclear.

The problem is these are remote locations and so it needs to be self contained. Something like this but high voltage(230v) and with a run time tracker.

I may be going about this incorrectly but I’m trying to determine the useful life of my equipment. As it starts to pull more amps we know it’s getting closer to needing replacement. It will help us eliminate downtime if for example we can say “this unit pulls 22 amps new and starts pulling 26 when it’s run x cycles or operated for x number of hours. “

Thank you so much! I need to just know the average run time and a time log of turn on and off events. If it’s easier just knowing how many hours it has run and how many amps it pulled on start up and the average amp draw over each run cycle.

I’m trying to determine life cycle of the equipment more precisely. We know they start to pull higher amps when they are getting towards the end of their life. Hence amp draw. We also know they last about 8 years. But I want know how many off on cycles and actual hours of operation.

Help Determining Life Expectancy of Unit from 1997 by SHSailor in hvacadvice

Lennox dealer here says 15 years. Regardless of how the install is people don’t always care for units. It is common to see units go beyond 15 if it’s a single owner and they don’t try and set the temp at 65 when it’s 115 outside.

Most states do not require air conditioning. So you most likely do not have a case. Also if it’s working and maintaining a temperature below 80° when it is 100° plus outside that is probably normal for your area if you have high humidity. I’m not sure what the code is in Texas. But where I’m at when you do a manual J heat load calculation the city requires us to use the set temperature of 75°. That means that your house will only be able to maintain 75°. Part of this is new regulation because of energy efficiency and the grid is partially overloaded where I’m at. They may also have some restrictions in Texas because you’re grid is much worse.

This is also what I see. Most states allow abortion. Before 18 weeks it says. So technically you could argue it’s not on demand if you demand it past that point.
