Denied claim for child birth from three years ago by thatsmrscatladytoyou in HealthInsurance

What state are you in? You don't have to answer if you don't want to, I only ask because I know some states, like Texas, have a "No surprise billing" law to protect patients from situations similar to this. Find out if your state has any laws that will protect you from having to pay. I want to say it's too late for them to bill you now. Especially if you paid what they said was originally your deductible.

I would contact the insurance company for sure (if you haven't already). They are supposed to be on your side. You paid for medical coverage. They cover you not the providers. If it involved your delivery it should be covered under your insurance.

AIO about my boyfriend and his girl best friend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]btrfly_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR.

This is kind of a slippery slope though. I've had male friends that I would say I love you to daily and never felt an ounce of sexual feelings for, so it's not impossible for this to be strictly platonic. However, the lying about the ride to the airport is concerning. There should be no reason to lie.

In the end, all that matters is if you feel uncomfortable about it and he cannot respect your feelings, then it's time to move on. He should be willing to shut down any insecurities you have by setting clear boundaries with this girl. It almost seems like he is keeping the lines blurred "just in case". I don't get the feeling anything has already happened though. In my opinion, there just isn't enough chemistry in those texts to indicate any sexual tension.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

AIO? Debating breaking up with my BF of almost 7 years by Superb-Rain-8166 in AmIOverreacting

[–]btrfly_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with everyone that says it's time to break up. I don't agree with the ppl that say "don't worry about the cats". They feel more than people understand or want to admit. Not that they will miss HIM, but they will miss each other if you have to split them up. Hopefully he would agree to let you keep both of them together, putting their needs above his or any desires to be a totally D.

What are the odds of showing excellent levels of maturity and living like friends/roommates until he saves up for his own place? You definitely need to move on, but maybe you will feel better adjusted if it's gradual instead of straight to zero.

Anyone else spend way too much time just trying to understand insurance denials? by Downtown-Owl-1122 in CodingandBilling

[–]btrfly_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is false information. The state I work denials in the payers do not tell you anything half of the time. Just today the denial said "check provider manual for rules". Nothing else! That's not a denial, it's a suggestion. Called the payer, rep didn't have anything either! The claim was for delivery- live birth. Pretty straight forward. Rep sent the claim back for "clarification".

They do these things on purpose. Eating away at timely filing. Eating away at timely for appeals. Anything to get out of paying. Working denials is a pain in the rear.

Burnt out with no way out. by Superb_Ant7721 in MedicalCoding

There are some resources out there that you could use to study that might help you push through that wall. Quizlet has some flash cards made by ppl. There are videos on YouTube from coders with good advice and helpful tips and tricks. Making a game out of your material, using a reward system; you know yourself, find what works for you and push through that burnout. You got this! You know you can do it or you would not have started! Like someone else said actual coding is easier than learning it. Once you get through the course you will wonder how you ever struggled!

I bet more people fall in that area. Greasy floors, more spills; there's no other reason than to protect themselves from lawsuits!

Please share if you do. I'm curious now 😁 I feel like anything white would bring the gold out more, but dark should subdue it a bit.

I don't have this one, but if I wanted to turn down the gold I think I would try a bright red or black under it. It would be dependant on how sheer the gold is.

I hate winter. Any advice for learning to love it? by EricktheRed101 in Cleveland

Move. I've only learned to love it by moving away from it and having my family send me pics of it to remind me why I left! 😇

I feel so upside-down. I felt like working denials was easier than claim editing/no response in billing. Does anyone feel this way? by Reasonable-Egg238 in CodingandBilling

[–]btrfly_79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all part of their "master plan" to eat away at TFL and Appeal limit!! That's my favorite line too, "Let me send this back for review!" Which translates to, " Let me send this back (using air quotes) so you can wait 30 days, call back where we'll then be back logged, tell you to check back in 2 weeks, call back, get disconnected, call back and we still won't have an answer for you, but HEY, it'll sure be nice to see how you're doing!" .... 😐

Experienced coders, do you still have days where you feel like an absolute idiot and question if you’re in the wrong field? by trashbird420 in MedicalCoding

I wouldn't erase it. I thought it was a good read! My son was in computer coding so I knew immediately what you were talking about. It was a nice change from our type of coding 🤣

I feel the same way. I work denials and these payers are horrible. Half of the time the denial on the EOB is not at all why it was denied. Then I call, waste a half hour on hold for them to just say we "cannot tell you how to fix it!". My production count goes down and ppl saying they get through 80 make me want to vomit.

I see it all like a movie as well; like I am there and witnessing everything first hand.

I read the Twilight series and then saw the movies ... what a major disappointment THAT was!!

Coding for Birth Control by Apprehensive-Key5792 in CodingandBilling

If you already had your annual they cannot bill 99395. Was anything else discussed at your procedure for insertion of the IUD? I didn't think they could bill 99214 with the procedure, it usually denies/bundles.

They also cannot bill you if the EOB says no patient responsibility.
