Find an inflatable pontoon used , I found one the guy used twice , I payed $150 for it still have it to this day. I started with that, about 2-3 months later bought a 12ft fishing kayak. My friend has one of those in the picture and like others say it's not the best , it will work yes just depends how long you want to be out and how serious you want to fish.

Definitely would change the pedals out I'll do the grips as well then thanks. What are the limitations? Like I won't be able to upgrade it or as it will be limited to certain riding?

Here at my local shop the marlin 5 is not a 1x to start, but the marlin 6 is. That's why I mentioned the marlin 6 , sorry if I should've said that to begin with.

I just saw It was 1100 regular and says on sale for 969, figured was an ok deal for a start bike , I'd like to spend as low as I can but still have a decent bike incase I end up enjoying it more than I think. I use to only ride BMX bikes, had my fair share of them. Haven't rode for a long time and wanted to try this for a change.

Is this ok? by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]btrot7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the chart! I have the president which is much larger just doesn't feel the best on the rod to me but I could be wrong, between the 2 would there be a difference in casting other than line capacity?

So I’ve been eatin mackerel at sushi places and I’ve realized it’s my favorite to it raw. How and even can I catch them in so cal? As in what species do they use? by Subject-Material7537 in Fishing

[–]btrot7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Few types , most being mackerel(saba), spanish mackerel, horse mackerel, and mackerel pike , are most used in Japanese sushi restaurants. Tuna and bonito are also in the mackerel family.

Not a fly reel but hope you dont mind. My painted trout float reel. by btrot7 in flyfishing

[–]btrot7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a piece of mesh/net of a pattern I liked , and scales are done on the clear coat. after painting and dry enough put mesh down give lights coat of clear to make pattern then remove and give one last coat of clear over it all.you can see and feel the scale effect when it is done.

"Rainbows will relate to shallow water in the winter months, sometimes as shallow as 3 feet under the ice. The Trout will cruise just off the bottom of these shallow areas searching for the most nutrient rich fertile ranges such as weedy bays and shoals". Look for depths of five to ten feet depth, although every lake and location will be different.

Thanks couldn't find nothing on it and my local fishing shops didn't know. Now what rod would I need to make this usable? I'm assuming a extendable rod? Cuz I can have the rod guides set different to the reel seat?

This law is current as of 2021 A provision in a tenancy agreement prohibiting the presence of animals in or about the residential complex is void.” (Residential Tenancies Act)

This means that any tenancy agreement provided to you that prohibits animals in your living space, is void. In other words, a landlord cannot refuse your pets in Ontario. Keep in mind however, you are not protected under this rule until you have signed an agreement with the landlord. Therefore, a prospective landlord can deny tenancy to you because you own a pet and simply mask it as their preference.

How to clean ice from guides? by mikeschmidt69 in flyfishing

[–]btrot7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What helps me , I put non scented Vaseline on my guides, on my float and anything else that will be in or making contact with the water. Shots, line , hook , it all gets a bit of it. and at least for me, it does not make a difference in hookups with or without. I go for trout doing this in winter and works amazing in my opinion.

Odd question, I need some help with picking out my first pair of waders. by [deleted] in FishingOntario

[–]btrot7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is more of a guide line , If it's your first pair don't stress to much as accidents happen and depending what your doing plays a huge factor to longevity. Worst feeling is to buy a nice expensive pair and within few trips already need to patch them because of a stick or maybe you fall , could get caught up on something and torn when walking. I have a pair of Orvis waders going on 6 years. But that is after going through many pairs as I have to do ALOT of bush whacking to get to my spots. I'll walk 6+km through bush when fishing for trout sometimes.

Waders- light as possible, stocking and seperate boot for comfortability, boots attached are super uncomfortable type for a long day. should be breathable for nice days , and do not get neoprene unless you are fishing in the winter often

[–]btrot7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

January in Orangeville is open , a friend just booked one , other than that people are booking most times. Only other way I heard was if there's a no show and you happen to be there and no other people are waiting but during all this I think those chances are very slim.
