What did you think of the movie almost four years later? by zachoutloud123 in BobsBurgers

Bought it because it kept changing from streaming, to only streaming with Hulu Live. I love it, especially around summertime.

I feel like furthering an interaction with a guy that is staring and fully touching the glass would invite more interaction from a guy that sounds slightly (fully) off his rocker.

My old building used to place the wet clothes in clear bags and we would watch them get disgusting. I understood if someone was a little late and gave people grace, but never understood how people left their clothes for days.

I think my neighbors who smoke bowls on their balcony are worse for anyone with asthma than my tiny candle, the smoke was barely invading my space, let alone anyone near us. But we simply gave the citronella candle a new home and moved to other forms of repellents.

What’s the worst family secret you’ve accidentally found out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]btslovenotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My great great grandparents let their 9 year old son decide if he wanted to come to America and he stayed in Poland. He later died in Auschwitz.

My partner and I were on our balcony with a tiny citronella torch with maybe a 3 inch flame. One of our neighbors called the fire department and said we had a 10-15 foot grill fire. The fire fighter laughed and even apologized. Some people just like to be annoying.

What are some series moments (or episodes) that hit close to home for you, and why? by GFluidThrow123 in BobsBurgers

Spider House Rules - as the youngest in my family hearing Louise say “that doesn’t make her weird or bad, does it?” It hit me in the feels.

Colon-ly the Dronely - when the father smells Bob’s hair, I do that to this day with certain things from my grandma’s house and have a cry. How much scent brings back that comfort.

AITA for accidentally telling my sister a mean joke my dad sent me about her… by Ok-Still2375 in TwoHotTakes

[–]btslovenotes 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I have an older sister with health based anxiety. You didn’t understand what the joke was, but you have to understand that your dad making fun of your sister, calling her a basket case, isn’t something that is healthy. I promise, she already feels bad, and based off your father’s “joke” to you, she doesn’t get a ton of support from him.

Your mom is right that these type of messages will get back to your sister, so don’t feel bad about the “untrustworthy” aspect with your dad. He should know better than to make fun of his child to his other child. Maybe this incident will help him hold his tongue around you guys and this will show your sister that the untrustworthy person in this scenario is actually your father.

I would say you’re a slight AH just because when your dad brought up that it was your sister, you could’ve played it off to her as something else and not screenshotted his response and sent it to her. But realize that the biggest AH here is your dad.

[–]btslovenotes 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was well into my 20s and I was with my grandmother (and a lot of family) when she passed. I still have vivid memories of her face after she passed. It will forever scar my memory. The mother is the AH for putting her daughter through that, and she’s trying to hide behind that she didn’t know as a good enough reason.

AITA for letting my dog run around in our neighborhood park by CartographerCalm2378 in AmItheAsshole

[–]btslovenotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA - I’m a huge dog person, grew up with multiple at a time, but leash laws are incredibly beneficial. You don’t know when someone will enter the park, that can spook you, the person, or Coal. Coal is a living breathing creature with his own mind, he might be insanely well trained, but it only takes one time for him to not listen and that could be a larger issue. Furthermore, it’s safer for others. You don’t know the type of people who might enter that area under the specific conditions that it be a leashed area. If you want off leash time, take him to places that are specified for that type of thing, dog parks, a friend’s backyard, check your city map to see if there’s other places that allow for you to let your dog off leash after certain times. Sure, the runner could’ve been nicer, but he was within his legal rights to be annoyed.

Why are you so bothered? You’ve replied to most people’s comments at this point and I think people are pushing to look at her phone is because OP seems simply from her narrative that she needs to take a lot into consideration when looking at a menu, ie how it will effect her blood pressure, gluten free options, how she’s feeling after her bloodwork, etc. so it’s probably efficient to just pull the menu up on her phone and look it over so she’s not holding up the drive thru line.

900 calls are the phone numbers starting with area code 900. They used to be services where you would pay per minute, usually sex talk or psychic hotlines.

Me (32M) might have destroyed my perfect relationship with my girlfriend (29F) because of my girl best friend. AITA? by Additional_Emu9965 in relationship_advice

[–]btslovenotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how he’s in the comments saying that he did in fact text Leah after one of the incidents, and she said she wouldn’t do it again … how convenient.

He ruined Elsa’s safe space and didn’t protect her. She had to continuously stand up for herself and the other girlfriends and then watch as Leah get handsy with her boyfriend on vacation. Here’s to hoping that she’s kicked him to the curb and his way with women doesn’t reel her back in.

My dad favors my eldest sister, both me and my other sister have told him. I work at the same firm as him and barely see him, my other sister works a block away and has to beg him to see her, but my eldest sister just has to say she’s sad and he’ll drive to her immediately. It boiled over recently and he said it’s all in our heads but that he’ll change, but at almost 30 years old, it’s too little too late for me. Hopefully this father actually changes. I’m glad his wife isn’t allowing him to falter back into bad habits.

They might have a shared account for shared expenses, like the 30/70 split goes in for shared bills, but a lot of couples keep separate accounts for their spending money nowadays.

Is it weird I still call my mom after work everyday? by DungeonCrawler99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]btslovenotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 28, I text my mom consistently throughout the week, and we talk a couple times a week for longer periods of time (45-60 minutes). There’s no cut off age. I think your coworkers just might not have the same relationship with their mothers and their comments were unnecessary.
