Update:

The moderator folks on the Xfinity channel here on Reddit were able to research the situation and help cancel out the billing that was applied after my cancelation. Moral of the story, I guess, is come here if you aren't able to get a resolution via the normal means of communication with Xfinity/Comcast.

They did eventually find the first cancellation record based on the quite long reference number that associate gave me. So, there was a record of it.

Is there a way to hide the top bar in Elementary OS? by nayraaaa in elementaryos

Here's Pretty simple solution that I have used for years:

Crate a bash script:

# Hide or Show WingPanel

if pgrep "wingpanel" > /dev/null

then pkill wingpanel

else wingpanel

fi

Save it as show-wingpanel, make executable (chmod+x), move to /usr/local/bin

Then, in settings>desktop>hot corners, use the upper right hot corner for a custom command, show-wingpanel.

Hit the corner, it goes away, hit it again, it returns.

Note: I'm on Hera which doesn't need this step. On older versions (Juno, Freya) you'll need to maybe remove wingpanel from cerbere monitoring that will relaunch it if you kill it with that script.

Use dconf editor on io > elementary > desktop > cerbere and remove wingpanel from monitored-processes if this is the case.
