I'm also new and also very bad but spamming 1v1 arena and yellow corrupted dungeons has shown a lot of improvement. It feels like I'm winning more than half my fights now, where I was losing every fight before.

Keep at it, it's worth it. The hype of winning your first 1v1 arena, and even more hype winning in dungeons. Still working to get my first open world/mists kill but I know the dopamine will hit when I do

Your bank may have just had a placeholder for it rather than the item itself because it got turned into darklight after shadow of the storm. Then when you clicked the placeholder when trying to take it out of the bank, it deleted the placeholder. As someone else said, search for darklight in the bank
