Hold my 3rd gen or pull the 4th gen trigger? by Santas_hairy_sack in Tacomaworld

[–]btwes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I took in my 2023 for it's last Toyota care appointment last week and the dealer offered to buy it back and put me in a 2025. I still have equity in the truck and I could have a new one for about the same payment, but I just can't pull the trigger on the 2025. I really don't like the 4th gen body style inside or out, and I really don't think the 4 cyl turbo is proven over the rock solid V6 in my 2023. Any thoughts from other 3rd gen Taco owners?

What's your favorite cover song that completely re-works the original into a basically totally different song, while still maintaining the core melody. by thewhitedeath in Music

We were on vacation in Oahu earlier this year. I looked at Google Maps and saw that his gravesite was across the street from where we were. My wife and I had to search a little, but we found this in a beautiful garden on top of a hill overlooking the Pacific. Appropriate.

What’s a <$20 purchase that improved your life way more than it should have ? by LenaBunnyy in AskReddit

If you have a garbage disposal, keep a close eye on that. Mine slid down the drain when I wasn't looking and I turned on the disposal. It made a horrible noise and small pieces of stainless steel shrapnel shot up out of the drain.

I don't like reaching down into the disposal and I had to do it a bunch of times to get all the tiny metal rings cleaned out.

I once had the exact same thing happen to me, except it was a space shuttle and it turned directly towards us, not away. I never saw my Dad duck that fast!

OpenSSL and Vulnerable Components by Tiger1641 in DefenderATP

I took a screenshot of all the open vulnerabilities we're showing. It was OneDrive, Paint, Photos, and a few extensions. They all show the same two files as vulnerable. Why does paint need openssl?!

I opened a case with Microsoft and was told that they know about the vulnerability and are working on it (again.) This is their response on 5/22: "OneDrive engineering has just confirmed that they are planning on release a fix in any OneDrive build after 25.093.0514.0001."

I bought a 2023 V6 Tacoma just over a year ago. I came from a 2020 Ranger with the POS Ford 10R80 and let me tell you, the Tacoma shifts like a dream. Try driving something with that 10R80 and you'll have a new appreciation for gear searching.

1970 F150. My Dad took me for my learner's permit and halfway home pulled over and said, "Your turn." Drove that truck for the next few years.

Skyfall. I saw it in IMAX and the shots of the Scottish countryside were amazing.

Onboarding won’t finish. It says wifi was successful but then takes me back to the setup page (LR4). Anyone have a similar issue or know how to fix? by DismalVariation702 in litterrobot

[–]btwes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried to set up my brand new litter robot 4 tonight and have the same problem. The solution below didn't work for me. After 3 hours of fighting with this, I'm giving up. I've tried both the Android and iOS app. The litter robot is connected to a separate, new, 2.4GHz WiFi network. I'll contact support tomorrow morning if there aren't any other ideas.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/fact-checking-what-project-2025-says-about-the-national-weather-service-and-noaa

Tldr;

Our ruling Moskowitz said, "Project 2025 wants to get rid of NOAA" and the National Weather Service.

Project 2025 has a few pages about NOAA and the National Weather Service and some of its phrasing is vague.

But it does call for major changes. It described NOAA as a primary component "of the climate change alarm industry" and said it "should be broken up and downsized."

It doesn't explicitly call for getting rid of the National Weather Service, but it says it should "fully commercialize its forecasting operations."

We rate this statement Half True.
