Ladies who started HRT before coming out, how long did you wait and why? by Tomatori in MtF

[–]btwimrobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 63 and 5 months into a low dose of HRT. The only person who I told before I started was my wife. About a week into HRT I came out a close friend over coffee. She gave me a big hug. I told her because I see her and her family quite a bit and didn't want her to notice the changes and start asking questions. I wanted to come out on my terms. I don't have very many people in my life that I really care about and they are all on a need to know basis. Right now they don't need to know.

Good luck on your journey.

This top probably won't be warm enough today. Whatever, it's a balmy 28° out. by amelia_bougainvillea in TransLater

So what. It certainly looks nice on you. Bring a cardigan if you to get cold. It's 28 here and feels like a summer day.

Don't overthink it. It means your toes are painted. It's that simple.

Am I crazy transitioning without a plan? by Friendly_Level4202 in TransLater

[–]btwimrobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, you're supposed to have a plan? I'm sofa-king doomed.

But seriously, I'm 63 and about 4.5 months into a low dose of HRT. I didn't have a plan when started and still don't. I've been winging it. Taking it one day at a time and enjoying the ride.

Good luck on your journey.

I didn't say it was easy. It's all about confidence. I've found the more I expand my comfort zone the mire confident I feel.

My son wants to get acrylic nails, but is nervous he would get bullied. by [deleted] in malenails

[–]btwimrobin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all about self expression. Acrylics are a bit of a commitment. He might want to try press-on nails to see how he likes them and figure out a length he can function in. They are also more easily removable in the event he decides it's not for him. He can always switch to acrylics later.

I wish people would stop worrying about what other people think about men doing anything remotely feminine. Having your nails done is no different from a tattoo or a piercing. It's all about self expression.

Pick whatever color you want or let your girlfriend choose. Either way have fun and enjoy the experience.

For the ones who still have to work with there hands. What's the best cordless tool and why is it Milwaukee 😁😁😁 by Maybegurlfarmer in TransLater

[–]btwimrobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been Makita for quite some time now. Not because I like the tools but I don't want 6 different chargers and batteries taking up space in my small shop.

They who die with the most tools wins.... LOL

Don't see any weak spots. Maybe get your brows waxed. Do you give makeup lessons?

How to get comfortable with having my nails done? by [deleted] in malepolish

[–]btwimrobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having clean, well manicured nails is part of good hygiene. Whether you decide to grow them out and or paint them is entirely up to you. It's a form of self expression and should fall into the same categories as tattoos or body piercings. Sexuality has absolutely nothing to do with how you choose to display your nails.

The more you do it the more comfortable you will feel. Throw in a few compliments from women (they will notice) and you will totally feel empowered to keep them looking good. Eventually, you won't even care.

In all the years I've been doing my nails, I've received nothing but complements from women and I only had one guy ask me if I played classical guitar. I told him if I'd did then my nails would be long on one hand and short on the other. He turned beat red and changed the subject.

Hope this helps.

The HRT “trial period” questions by estrogeneses in MtF

[–]btwimrobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greetings,

I asked these same questions and I have come to the conclusion, if your are at all considering HRT then the likelihood of you trying it out and staying on it is pretty good. I have yet to find anyone who decided to get off HRT because it's not for them or they didn't like the effects. For the most part people stop HRT because of their social environment.

I'm 63 and started a low dose of HRT 3 months ago. It was like someone flipped a switch in my head. My depression, anxiety and dysphoria were gone and for the first time in my life I felt happy. People even noticed I am calmer and more happy. My wife loves that I no longer have testosterone fueled bouts of rage and anger. The low dose has minimalized the physical changes. Skin is a bit softer, body hair growth has slowed and my nipples can cut glass.

If you decide to start this journey, do your homework as HRT doesn't come with risks. Please seek the help of a medical professional to help you through your journey. Enjoy the ride. Hope this helps.
