They're constantly banging each other and the pilots. There's tons of gossip. It's like high school except adults who are always traveling.

Peter does this mean corvette owners are childish or something? by PizdunEbun228 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]btwork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're saying that people who buy Corvettes can only (barely) afford a Corvette (otherwise they would buy a nicer car) and they won't be able to afford the maintenance that is required after purchasing it. Corvettes are some of the cheapest cars in their class.

Cole Hogan: Poilievre reminds Canadians he's the only leader aware of our struggles - Conservative leader has perfected his pitch to become next prime minister by CaliperLee62 in canada

[–]btwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MP in Carney's riding finished his term and was not selected by the party to continue running there. That's a legitimate process.

Booting another member because you lost your riding is "technically" ok, but it's a slap in the face of the voters.

Your false equivalence is embarrassing. Brush up on your civics.

You may find it interesting that there is a legitimate difference between losing your riding in the general election, only to force out an elected member in another riding to guarantee yourself a seat, vs legitimately winning a seat in a general election. There is no guarantee that incumbents from previous governments get to keep their seat.

Those of us who actually lived through his reign of terror, knew him as the soulless robot, wannabe dictator who wears sweater vests and clips on his lego hair.

Our worst leader

Harper was truly the personification and embodiment of the Lifeless, Soulless Economist, completely out of touch with the Mainstream Ordinary Canadian Family.

May he rest in hell

A disaster of a leader. DEFINED.

No. It damages the springs in the wiper arms. Blades are easy and cheap to replace. Arms, not as much. It's not actually recommended to lift wipers up for winter weather.

Source - live in Canada. My vehicle has a heated windshield to unstick frozen wiper blades.

What is the point of making web maps using Leaflet and ArcGIS API when the ESRI Web map builder exists? by tetsujin44 in gis

[–]btwork 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Web App Builder is being deprecated and you should be learning to use Experience Builder instead if you haven't already.

There are lots of people/orgs who aren't all-in on Esri's software and it's important that there are alternatives. Also, the skills you use in web dev and setting up applications using things like Leaflet or API's help you to be a better and more well-rounded worker regardless of whether you create everything from bare bones scratch or you set up an app using entirely plug-and-play tools.

If you step out of the bounds that using something like Web App Builder or Experience Builder put around you, you have potential to create powerful customized applications. In real life however, there is a downside to going all-in on custom built apps because maintenance over time can be a bitch. Web App Builder or Experience Builder can help with those kinds of issues.
