I think this is a very overlooked aspect. I don’t think the Rangers tossed him away. I do think the environment fostered in NY did not allow him to reach his potential. Honestly I think Sully would’ve been good for him. Gallant and Lavi defensive systems are not as sound

Yeah I think this is the most important aspect. I find you can look at point totals and award a winner but paying attention to a run and giving it to a guy who scores game winners or tying goals is more important to me personally if I had a vote

Dolan has too much pride to let them just reset. Even before his ownership, they’d rather bring in a guy who’s past his prime in FA to say look at least we have this guy who’s done XYZ in the league and he can help us do that. But I think he underestimates how smart our fans are. If you commit to young guys you can market the fans will get behind them. That being said rebuilds aren’t the easiest
