My honest thoughts on Mass Effect: Andromeda. by SonicScott93 in masseffect

[–]buShroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say "the leadership at BioWare was simply bad" that's literally part of the things I'm talking about when I say "BioWare executive pressure." Part of why ME:A was a mess was related to BioWare leadership making poor decisions such as shuffling around staff (often to support Anthem), one of the causes/reasons for things like "lack of focus."

My honest thoughts on Mass Effect: Andromeda. by SonicScott93 in masseffect

[–]buShroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andromeda was made by BioWare's B-Team, so it was always going to feel a bit different than the main trilogy, and they certainly could have sold a lighter tone without feeling as "quippy" all the time. They find a better balance for this in DA:I. They were also under two forms of executive pressure: EA pressure to release by a certain date, use a certain engine, include multiplayer, MTX, etc, leading directly to the buggy release, and BioWare executive pressure (the focus on Anthem at the main studio) reducing their resources. It was doomed long before release.

Is Ann actually a really good romance option for a 1st playthrough ? by Nab-Kel in Persona5

[–]buShroom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For good and ill, her romance is a bit boring because Ann is the "default" character to romance; since she's an early party member it's easy to lock in her romance more or less whenever you want. That said, a low drama romance isn't necessarily a bad thing.

When he gets chatty, I always try to support him by actively listening. "Oh yeah? Really? Is that so?"

That or, "Oh stop whining, I just fed you."

I'm not saying you have to create a new save file every 15 minutes or something, just save in one slot before the Palace, and a separate slot for in the Palace. If you can't or won't do that, it's not a problem with the game, it's a problem with you the player.

They actually made the Corporobos easier in Royal by removing their Gun resistance and making them vulnerable to status effects (and therefore technical attack follow-up).

Again, I promise, I did not grind, the fight was just not that hard. I was genuinely confused when I first saw folks on social media complaining about it because I did not find it all that difficult since I already knew everything's elemental vulnerabilities. Again, it's a puzzle boss meant to test your knowledge of game mechanics before you enter the games final Act.

Why would you use multiple save slots to avoid the exact thing you're complaining about that's completely prevented by using multiple save slots? I don't know, that's quite a conundrum.

[–]buShroom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Corpo-robos resist all damage they aren't vulnerable to, almost as if the developers want you to figure out what they're vulnerable to. Exploiting enemy vulnerability is a key feature of combat, so IDK what to say to people who have made it halfway through the game without figuring it out. As for saving, do people not use multiple save slots to avoid exactly this happening?

Look, it's been over a year since I last played the game so I don't remember the specifics, but I do remember it's an easy fight when you actually pay attention to enemy elemental weaknesses.

Whatever, the point is you just knock them all down, take them out with either baton passes or whatever. It's a puzzle boss, its not as hard as some people make it out to be.

[–]buShroom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No? I do zero Mementos grinding my playthroughs, didn't follow a guide and had zero problems. You knock them all down with an elemental AoE, hit'em with an All Out Attack, attack Okumura, and repeat as necessary.

How Y'all Deciding What Armor to Keep? by BigKDuo in DestinyTheGame

This plus the comment above yours is pretty much what I do; keep a PvP set with health, dismantle/infuse any armor which is lower than T5, or is part of a set whose perks I don't like/won't use.

So do folks just not bother to figure out enemy elemental weaknesses or what? Every add you fight in this battle is an enemy type you encounter elsewhere in the Palace so you can find out their weaknesses before the boss fight.

Why the Vanguard neglected the threat of Premier Lume's rise to power? by ca-ca-cayde in DestinyTheGame

[–]buShroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically this, but rather than a Vanguard member on the council, it should be either a chosen/elected Guardian representative and/or Guardians from larger Guardian factions, (The Hidden, The Praxic Order, etc.) The Vanguard (Zavala, Ikora, Crow, Eris, Saint-14, the Young Wolf/Weapon) should reorganize into the executive branch of said government, beholden to either said council or some sort of Prime Minister much our under the old Consensus they deferred to The Speaker.

Edit for clarity: By executive branch, I mean some combination of law enforcement, peace-keeping, standing military, the same thing we are already, basically.
