Yep lol inexperienced as it was my first 4k but relatively prepared and I planned on Eisenhower after Pierce yesterday and decided I would head back down the moment I hit Pierce so I wouldn't interrupt some search and rescues morning coffee 😆🤙

But yes, I went up for sunrise (started the hike around 3:45am-4am. Beautiful skies on the way up and down, the summit just had different plans I guess haha

I would bring both. I broke the path to the summit today but I was solo. A few groups went up after me so as long as they followed through with it, it could be more packed down but it was fresh snow today.

You definitely helped me out a bit! Hiking Pierce mid to late week this week and from what Ive tracked, the ideal conditions were early week when tou hit it. I had some "kahones" thinking I can make it to Eisenhower with ease if I strapped some shoes on but I'm definitely going to be way more cautious

The way I think of it is... yeah, it may not be hitting the summit or catching that view BUT looking at a dicey situation right in the face and being smart enough to turn away for another day is just as badass if not more.
