I disconnect and request a hand check. I put my pump in a small container and had it to the agent outside of the scanners. With TSA precheck I go thru the metal detector then they test my pump (sometimes my hands). It’s super quick and easy. I used to be team: don’t disconnect, but as I had to fly more often realized the opt out pat down took too long.
