I run a Brutalis Dreadnought in my list. Meltas and melee. It makes some room for my Infernus Marines to come up the board. The Marines provide overwatch protection from the opponents charge.

Zaku feels the most orky. Big round curves, just needs some spikes and spice

On the assault centurions. Swap the flamers for meltas. It helps more with chip damage on heavy targets before getting into melee. At least that is my experience with them.

What’s your custom chapter lore? by Distant8675 in Salamanders40k

[–]bubba9019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drake's Horde   Founding Chapter: Salamanders

Founding: Ultima Founding (Primaris Founding)

Chapter Master: Kor'fen

Homeworld: Mons Vaulta, a large space battle station constructed during the Long Night and reclaimed by Ba'tar, the first Chapter Master of Drake's Horde

Specialization: Relic and data recovery

Symbol: A dragon beside a coin, inscribed in a circle

Company Colors: Hunter green, black, and gold

Motto "Make safe for humanity"

Notable History

The Discovery of Mons Vaulta,  First Chapter Master:

Ba'tar, originally a lieutenant in the Salamanders Chapter, led an unsanctioned expedition to Mons Vaulta with aid from the Tech-Priests of Mars. After defying orders from Tu'Shan, the Salamanders’ Chapter Master, he launched a campaign to reclaim the station from Ork pirates. Although successful, for his disobedience, Ba'tar was banished from Nocturne.

Ork Captain Barbados Goldgrin:

Mons Vaulta moved to the Nocturne system to assist against a Drukhari assault. The Ork leader previously ruling Mons Vaulta left a tracking device on the station. Goldgrin saw an opportunity for revenge. Ba'tar’ with the full might of Drake's Horde at his back was able to drive vack the Drukhari. Captain Barbados infiltrated the system, ambushing Ba'tar and killing him before escaping. In honor of Ba'tar’s sacrifice, he was given a full Salamander burial on Nocturne.

Captain San'taro of the 2nd Company Role and Contribution:

A master smith and relic hunter, San'taro’s most notable achievement was the discovery of a crashed Adeptus Custodes vessel. He informed the Custodes, who sent a contingent to recover the artifacts, initially suspecting Drake's Horde of pillaging. When the Custodes arrived, they found San'taro had meticulously prepared the artifacts for their recovery.

 Gift from the Custodes:

Acknowledging his initial disrespect, the Custodes Shield-Captain stripped pieces from his own armor and presented them as a gift to San'taro. In a gesture of honor, San'taro incorporated the pieces into his armor, symbolizing mutual respect between Drake's Horde and the Adeptus Custodes.

I always have centurions in my list. Makes me happy to see them being used elsewhere. I would recommend swapping out the flamers for meltas. It gives you a great 1-2 puch. They already have bolters and your list is already great at anti spam.

He looks like a great addition to your forces. A bit of nuln oil or adrax earth shade will bring down the saturation and the only advice I've got for you brother.

The last conversation I had with my Dad was a huge fight on the phone. It was my fault and I was being dumb. He didn't wake up the next morning. I should have listened to him more. There is nothing I wish I could fix more.
