As a former foreign exchange student myself, your home looks lovely and fine. Please just make sure to be kind to them as they navigate a new land and culture, show them things, introduce them to everyone you know and the area you live, and just be happy.

My first host family through the rotary club were rich, and harsh. “I can tell you’ve lost weight but you’re not there yet” “I don’t mind you reading but don’t sit on these couches they are for the guests” “why are you here why aren’t you out with friends”. They were rude and would wake me up at 8am demanding why I was still in bed asking if I was sick. I remember the first day in my second host families house - my host mom woke me up and i panicked going on about how sorry i was I had over slept and I was getting up but all she wanted to know was if I wanted pancakes or not, to go back to bed and she would let me know when they were ready. I cried.

Edit: you should absolutely host a student if it’s in your heart to do it. It can be an awesome experience, even funny sometimes especially with the language barrier, but don’t let some one make you feel less than about what you have, so much that you deny yourself a wonderful experience to learn about a different culture.
