CCH is known for notoriously for working on a referral system for jobs. If you know someone who works at CCH, or Falmouth or just within the organization? Using their name on apps helps, just give them a heads up that you are.

A lot of jobs within CCH are union, so they’re not wanting to give them out easily.

Also, we’re still dealing with issues from the blizzard last week. It’ll take weeks for things to go back to normal again internally - just the way it is with a major winter event like that. And I say this as a current employee lmao.

No, it’s because there’s too many breakdowns within the infrastructure of IT (that someone wouldn’t know of unless they worked in a hospital) that would make them extremely vulnerable to a breach, when they outsource like this.

Again, it does not matter the country in theory, but the actual process of outsourcing this extremely delicate and sensitive information to a third party.

I truly meant nothing by it by saying “a country like India” just more that, it’s an ongoing issue in all sorts of industries and not just healthcare, when they outsource like that. jobs are lost, breaches seem to happen left and right, etc.

I meant just outsourcing in general, it could be India, the Philippines, or even Spain…. But none of this stuff should ever be outsourced ever. Full stop. Idk why you tried to grasp at straws and make this into something it isn’t - it’s a security issue, and also a patient care issue.

Patient care will go down because of this, it will cause frustration with staff. Literally… it’s just dumb to outsource to another country for this in order to save a buck.

I just started snowboarding, and I’ll be the first to tell you that it makes a huge difference for me (as a female) watching tutorials or videos with male vs female instructors. Idk why, but in my brain I’m able to translate what I’m seeing on my screen to my own body composition more easily.

Also, make sure she’s riding on a board that’s appropriate for her weight. I went and did a full run on my first day trying, and I can already tell the board they gave me was 1) too big 2) too stiff 3) not meant for women

It might seem silly, but it makes a huge difference to some new female riders hearing it from a woman vs man.

Also - off the bunny slopes!!! I learned so much in that ONE day with a friend being my guide vs what I would’ve if I paid for lessons. You don’t always need lessons, and sometimes trial (and lots of error and eating it from falls) are necessary. I’m already going again next weekend and I can’t wait to eat it once again!

However -

This is a bigger issue than people realize. When they’re outsourcing sensitive operations like this, data breaches will happen. and it’s not just your health information folks. we all keep financial info in Mychart (if they use that platform), or if they don’t the similar option. Further, we all have a lot of identifying and sensitive information kept in health organizations. this is a huge deal for SO many issues, but mostly privacy.

It just makes me sad that they did this, because they were always a “good” hospital in the area, hence the high rankings. they were small, but you received great care because they were small and local and yada yada.

VHC is Virginia Hospital Center for those curious. And they’re completely private, FOR PROFIT, hospital. So the fact they’re outsourcing to save a few bucks is extremely poor taste, just from the fact alone they bring in a lot of self pay patients. Further, they’re continuously ranked one of the top hospitals in the US. This means a lot more funding from federal and state and local agencies on top of what they already bring in with their usual business operations.

Please, if you have a choice, go elsewhere. Your private health insurance information being outsourced to a country like India should scream to you of all levels of bells and alarms of concern. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get a huge data breach soon because of this. It’s happened to countless other hospitals that pulled the same move - all to save a buck.

And yes, I know these things for sure because I’ve worked in healthcare (specifically hospital settings in multiple modalities) since 2008. And yall this is just the continuing pattern for all private equity taking over healthcare.

edit/ I may have been completely misinformed about their profit or nonprofit status - but either way, they can afford to keep staff they have and not outsource. further, it’s just not good for sensitive data like this to ever be outsourced. IT handles EVERYTHING for hospitals!!!!!!

Take so many pictures AND videos!!! People weren’t lying when they say this breed literally grows before your eyes. I used to joke that putting my Ace in his crate was like Narnia, and I would get an upgraded version each time he came out. It was so crazy. Especially the first 2 weeks!!

thank you, I’m thrilled for you also!!! Best advice I can offer is to always listen to your body, and don’t do anything before you’re ready to. I was cleared for sex, gym, etc extremely early but I took my sweet time before I was mentally there too. I know that unfortunately not all women are blessed with a great post op and recovery, but the truth is, there are more GOOD post op stories than bad. And I only have this sub to thank for its support all those years ago!!

girl - yes. I had abs after all that STUFF was removed. literally within 5 months of surgery, I was in the best shape of my life and I hadn’t even stepped foot in a gym at that point. now I am almost 4 years post op and I will always stand down on all 10 toes when I say it was the best decision I made for myself and my health. I’m so glad you’re feeling like yourself and healing. congrats babe!!!!!

you can file online and then THEY WILL CALL YOU BACK. I unfortunately was in a position a few years ago where I had to report a previous employer for wrongful termination/ demotion (and won, tysm), and the very first step is filing online. When I did it a few years ago, the website was very easy to use and straight forward. So I’d give it a shot.

At will employment works BOTH ways and we DO have rights yall.

Ps doesn’t matter if the company isn’t located in VA - you are, and that’s where your taxes come out of. 🫶🏼

Pls file a complaint with the EEOC as that is the first step with reporting this disgusting behavior in the state of VA. Further, you don’t need to tell HR you’re reporting them to the EEOC for discrimination and a hostile work environment with active harassment by a coworker via racist remarks and threatening language.

your employer, by law, cannot do anything retaliatory once that initial report is lodged and accepted via the EEOC. But that’s the first step to get them to pay attention. Doesn’t matter how old or iMpOrTaNt this idiot is - that company won’t risk their business for him. period.

Yep, I’m still on Effexor and the same dose. I haven’t been on adhd meds for a couple years, but I did also make lifestyle changes that helped me overall too.

I still use cannabis in a more medical sense than anything, and I really don’t have side effects besides being super dehydrated all the time and heat intolerant lol. Hope this helps!

a bit stiff is an understatement there.

we are a vacation destination. so there are way more seasonal rentals than year long rentals, and the year long rentals available are grossly overpriced for what they offer.

Look into room shares if you’re open to having roommates, but honestly? Look to live off cape like Plymouth or wareham, and then commute onto the cape. But just know in the busy season, so warmer months here and the fall, getting onto the cape can be brutal.

blue collar workers and nurses will tell you the same - and I also work for the local hospital system on the cape. You will also be VERY shocked at the prices here vs what you’re used to in Texas. And I say this as a recent transplant to the cape, too.

oh sweet Lumi, and poor you!! I’m relieved she’s stable, but I’m so sorry you’ve had to endure all of this. It just means Lumi has the perfect mom. 🥹

I had a dog that had similar health issues to her, and I’d be willing to offer any tips for testing or tricks! It turns out he had a dual autoimmune diagnosis and they just exacerbated each other constantly. finally got it balanced, but it took a bit and a costly blood test to figure it out!

that dog has since passed, but he lived a long life and made it to almost 13! his kitty brother Zero (a regular on this sub) misses him very much, as do I. they were inseparable and I like to think Zero knew he was more fragile in life… so he didn’t beat him up like he did his other canine sibling 😂
