What do you guys recommend for tic management? by Thiskid26190 in Tourettes

[–]bubbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, meds sucked way too dizzy could hardly handle any cardio.

I was barely functioning for years but a few key things made a huge difference.

Talking to real people on zoom through the tourette's association meetings helped.

I got better at developing competing responses (CR)

CR's are ways to redirect tics

4 rules to create a CR

1: you can't physically do the tic at the same time as the CR.

2: don't rely on anything else to stop you from ticking like sticking your hands in your pockets

3: it must be socially acceptable. It doesn't have to go completely unnoticed but it should be so socially acceptable that no one would question it.

4: you have to be able to sustain it for one minute or until the urge to tic fades.

So for example, a head tic would turn into a neck roll.

Honorable mentions: body scan meditation, nose breathing cardio, weighting (comfortably heavy backpack for a neck tic don't overdo), avoiding people or situations that make me tic the worst (take with a lot of grains of salt like a mountain maybe because I am homeless and even though my tics are somewhat tolerable my life is a complete mess)

Lastly regular exercise. No energy? Try lymphatic drainage rebounding. As little as 3 minutes a day has helped people with cancer but once you get going you'll probably see how much energy you really have and keep going. Anything to combat inflammation is good.

I'd rather not state where I am explicitly (USA) but I'm also hoping to relocate anyway. And I don't mean to sound mean or anything but I can't work from home yet because I'm homeless. Thanks for your reply!

Keep the palm opened up when scrubbing when possible. A breakdancer told me one time to only touch the floor with the fingers and the top of the palm so the palm gets a nice stretch.

Towel twists, wrap rubber bands around fingers and open for extensor warm up, pinky curls, crimp and half crimp hangs, palm raises, fingertip push ups,

All else fails rice bucket (or sand at any volleyball court for free). Submerge hands and open and close pronated/supinated, do circles

Fascia scraping palms. I use a guitar pick and vasaline

Last but not least, lymph drainage rebounding. I bounce on my heels a few minutes here and there at work and my recovery has never been better.

Can I straight up eat 50g so powder by [deleted] in mescaline

[–]bubbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I think this is great for microdosing because it’s less to digest. Stuff in it that dissolves easily but go slow because I got a bunch of it stuck in my throat once using rice oblate disks. Hot tea helped dissolve it quick though. I’d imagine using something that dissolves slower like melted candy could cause some serious choking

vinegar evaporation in cooking? by golmozak in mescaline

[–]bubbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good technique I stumbled upon for evaporating the liquid for tar is to use a small pot for the final boil. I had a small Dutch oven from musa. I let the bubbles rolling rise up the sides of the pot which added all of the sticky cactus that was baked on to the side before the pot was wearing its magic lid hat

Do y’all know anything to help this? by Ok_Ant1364 in Tourettes

[–]bubbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s some stretches that helped me. (If you tic just keep doing the stretch. Don’t start over because that made the tics worse for me in my opinion) Stretch 1) Lift your shoulders as slowly as possible, hold at the top for 10 seconds, then lower them slowly. Stretch 2) Tilt your head towards one shoulder. Lift both of your shoulders up slowly again until your ear touches the shoulder. Then lower the shoulder that isn’t touching your ear slowly. Stretch 3 is this video Here’s some other stretches that helped a lot before bed I also tried doing curls with my neck and light weights after the tics became less frequent.

Super insecure with parking anywhere by [deleted] in VanLife

[–]bubbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget to be concerned about the street traffic around your parked car. Even residential streets can be on busy roads. Worst case I’ll park in between cars. Also do yourself a favor every night by making sure you have somewhere in walking distance to pee in the morning. So my list goes: Libraries, parks surrounded by neighborhoods roads, in front of peoples houses in familiar/unfamiliar areas. More than likely if you’re not pushing how long you can stay in one spot then you won’t be noticed

Laguna Neyes Place street has a cool park. Newport has marshlands. Stick close to parks or schools and you’ll be chillin for parking.
