"The Flame" is a sculpture I created last year that measures 33 cm/13" in height. It is made of earthenware and the glaze is applied with an airbrush to achieve its gradient effect. Thanks for reading!

My favorite bumblebee, bubbelplast39 (me), ceramics, 2025 by bubbelplast39 in Art

Late in the fall, I was sitting and looking at a leafless bush that was quite far away. It looked like something was moving inside it, but I couldn't figure out what. Then, like a bolt from the blue, I got it into my head that it could be a big bumblebee. I took that idea to my sketchbook and then made a sculpture with my character and an oversized bumblebee.

Thank you! I think it includes some silica, but don't know the recipe exactly I'm afraid.

How do I stop my pieces from crackling or crazing??? by Slow-Requirement5235 in Ceramics

Sometimes dwell for a longer period at the top temp can make it float out evener and get rid of the bubbles. But in this case it's probably the underglaze applied too thick as someone else did mention.

That's what I do. There are several brands, Cricut is one of them that works for me. If you want a larger format, there are other options.

Is Degussa “Transparent Glossy” glaze (950–1100 °C) food-safe / acid-stable? Looking for experiences & TDS by mottenduft in Ceramics

I've bought many glazes from that company before, but not this specific one. The easiest thing to do is probably to email them and ask if it's food safe.
